I've never heard of a seris2 cas but there is a seris 2 ptu. maybe you've got a little mixed up dude?

If the CAS was faulty the engine wouldn't run. Look elsewhere...

its meant to rev high when cold, once the IAC senses a change in temprature it will open bit like a thermostat, this in turn will lower the idle, so its perfectly normal to see 2k rpm when cold

what does it idle at when at normal operating temprature?

The full story is that i'm new to z's and was taking a mechanics word for what the problem is :slap:

From what you've said, it matches what the car does from cold and then it settles on about 700rpm after a couple of minutes

So there isn't a problem then?

What is the car idling at when cold? I'll check the ecu maps tomorrow to find out exactly what it should be at around 10 deg...

about 1300 rpm

cheers

That actually sounds a bit low lol. According to the bin file, idle increase @ 10deg C is 1050 rpm, so added to 750 gives 1800 rpm....

Is that anything to worry about?

Sounds like the ecu temp sensor is giving false readings.

Just renew it. Its not uncommon for these to be faulty.

cheerz, mickey

to answer your question there is nowt to worry about its fine, you can ajust the base idle, via a screw, use the search facilty, to find out how to :)
