I'm after a cd headunit that illuminates blue (mainly) + red to match my blue-led dash conversion. Nothing too fancy, just plays cd's!

Anyone any ideas? I have a JVC unit that is perfectly fine, just the wrong colour! :smash:

Andy Isherwood has a blue head unit in his the same colours as the mk4 golf blue.

He said somewhere what it was but i cant remember mate. Sorry

Spongy, you remembered, I'm touched!

Ollie, if you want an understated cd player that looks factory then go for the Nakamichi CD500. It has a 20bit DTA Converter. 45 watts per channel of linear and precise power, cam play mp3s and has both form and function and you even get a remote. The display has 10+ colour combinations and adjustable contrast on the display so it will go with almost any car interior.

It has lots more but I won't go on.

If you want one, try ebay as I'm not sure if they have renewed there Uk distributorship yet.

Hope that helps,

Andy

Most of them.

Thats the brand of the mk4 golf stereo and imho is the best electric blue you can get.

This is the replacement aftermarket unit golf owners go for, its as close to the original blue as possible.

So recommended so far: (And the Alpine by far looks the nicest blue)

and this looks good for the price:

But what none of those pictures really show is what they look like at night.

I've not seen any of those units myself, but I can imagine what the Sony looks like, as it's very similar to the unit I've just sold. Which has the circular parts mainly in red with the centre in blue. Then when you have the screen closed it's predominately blue (if that makes any sense) So I'd imagine that the CDX-M800 would be along the same lines.
