...who's looking forward to the smoking ban this year? :hyper:

I'm allergic to cigarette smoke (one of the chemicals in it) so i can't wait for this to happen now.

Anyone else looking forward to it?

If you're a smoker how are you dealing with it? Giving up smoking? Boycotting the pubs?

We've had the ban here in Ireland for 2 years afaik and it's good imo. most pubs in england will put up smoking rooms as they only need to have one side open to pass regulations, most of the pubs here have rooms like this outside they have umbrella heaters aswell. one problem which you will find and is a big downside to the ban is that people will start going out the front for a smoke. where do most people throw their buts ? on the ground of course so you will see increased amounts of fagbuts on the streets. It also causes serious problems for doormen when theres 3-4 people coming in or out at the same time on a busy night to have a ciggie, and at the same time they're tryin to keep trouble out, you get the scenario. another thing you will find is that people who smoke a lot when they drink will just stay in the smoking rooms the whole night, and often you will see half the people out there don't smoke at all and go out because all theirmates are smokers or whatever. it's also a good way to meet women, go out for a cig plenty of birds out there already, ask for a light, no music blaring in yer ears, if she's a moose then your not stuck with her, just finish yer fag and go back inside.

I quit this morning , on the patches now , not feeling too bad so far but god help anyone who cuts me up in the next few weeks :nono: :nono:

Keep with it bud, its not till you realise how much people stink when they've been smoking fags that you understand just how horrible the smell is

suprised how strongly people feel about this one!!!

suprised how strongly people feel about this one!!!

It's only a few though. As you can see from the poll, most people are happy because of. I don't care what the reasons are for it, whether the government care for our health or what ever, I couldn't care. But for me personally, it'll just be more pleasant as for the majority that also agree.

Do feel sorry for the smokers though as it is seen as an infringment on their choices. But it works both ways. No point in saying 'if you don't like it, feck off'. The non-smoker can't and just has to put up with it. Soon as the shoe is on the other foot...oooh dear...world war 3! ;) :)

i smoke !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and it's free will......

P.S. I smoke outside of pubs,,,and don't have a problem with that...

Is this political correctness gone mad??

Or is this the beginning of a war between what you can and you can't do!!!

FREE SPEECH AND DEMOCRACY WILL KILL OUR CIVIL LIBERTIES.

To smoke in private is my godgiven right.

thank's wozzer...

..

the way some of you non smokers sound in the posts above.... makes you look like you are superior to the smokers... and that smokers are stinky low lifes...

Well even if you dont stink, and your clothes are always spotless and your cars are shiny and your fingers are white.... i'd rather hang out with a smoker - coz this judging malarkey is what kids do in playgrounds.

we're all old enough to make our own decisions and dont need some goody-goody-gum-drops telling us that we stink or whatever...

if you dont like it - dont stand next to us. the world is huge - go find your own spot.... coz until July Im smoking where the fook I want! ....then i'll smoke where I'm allowed!! :)

End of.....

one thing smokers are forgetting, it isnt doing you any good lol, smoke if ya like i dont care, just dont go blowing it in my direction cause you fell it is your right to blow smoke anywhere you like

my mother has emphazima, a knackered heart and bad lungs due to years of smoking, because of the ilnesess she cant walk far and get much excersise which leads to excessive weight problems wich leads to making her heart, lungs even worse

still dying for a fag lol

if you dont like it - dont stand next to us. the world is huge - go find your own spot....

Argument always swings both ways. IE, why does it always have to apply to the smoker? If you don't like it, why don't you go somewhere else to smoke erh? ;)

I'd rather stand next to a chain smoker than someone who just spouts shit 24/7..... :D

Smoking is a habit, a choice, whatever you want to call it.

I chose to have a noisy exhaust fitted to my car. It annoys certain people so i concider that as to where i open the throttle up on an empty open road or when i'm driving along with someone who can appreciate that.

Does it not annoy you when boy racers race past your house in the middle of the night and set your car alarm off/wake you up?

I have nothing against smokers myself, i used to smoke up till 19 then i gave up but i only smoked in the pub, never at home.

Anyway i gave up because basically i realised i was being antisocial to people who don't smoke and that it made my clothes smell.

So i see it from both sides to be honest and i think if you remove the fact everyone else is doing it in a pub then a majority of casual smokers will give up which can only give a positive thing.

The hardcore smokers may find they cut down on the amount they smoke too. I'm not saying everyone should give up smoking i'm merely saying that if everyone else is doing something then you're more inclined to do it yourself

some people smoke coz yes, they are part of that 'wannabe hardcore teenager stage' and can not get out of it...

others smoke because if they didnt, they would turn to something else.

you guys think that we do it for a laugh... ok some ay do - but from what i've been through in my life... if i stop smoking fags (right now anyway) i will probably turn to something worse... It helps me forget, chill and stay focused.

I've been smoking for 8 yrs now - besides my little girl (she keeps me going more than anything!!) - i thank god i smoke - if i didnt, i'd prob be a junkie considering past events in my life... i may come across as a strong ass - but tough on the outside, and fooked on the inside!

so dont whack all smokers in the same boat.... :)

I'm a smoker, and I enjoy going outside to smoke, it feels MUCH Healthier,

I'd like to stop, but not for health or money reasons. Just so I can spend more quaility time with my kids, without having to constantly hide from them, or not take them places because I want to smoke in my car.

I stopped for two years, and it was an absolute nightmare. Then one year me and my wife were on holiday and got bored, so we bought a ten pack of menthol (healthy fags ;-) ) and that was it, I was hooked again :smash:

I know I smoke mostly out of habit, and I know how smelly it is, but as any ex-smoker knows, stopping is a bitch.

I don't think the smoking ban is an infringement, I think it's definately justified. It's disgusting and un-healthy, but I love it :slap:

what i want to know is when they are going to ban booze? it kills passive drinkers too

smokers are fine but drinkers....i try mow them down when driving through the town on a saturday night :smash:

Paul.
