I'm allergic to cigarette smoke (one of the chemicals in it) so i can't wait for this to happen now.

 

Anyone else looking forward to it?

 

If you're a smoker how are you dealing with it? Giving up smoking? Boycotting the pubs?

I have slowly broken all the habits and now only smoke when having a Pint.

I know I am that bone idle that I will not go ouside the pub for one so its will be over for me

 

Mind you saying all that I am on 20 pints a day at the moment

But think we'll only notice it big time in the winter because thats when everyone will be couped up in the pub as apposed to the beer gardens. Mmmm, nice fresh air, I can just smell it!

I think its sad in many ways. It doesn't bother me because I don't smoke, but it seems OTT and extreme. Why carn't pubs be aloud to have a smoking Room with special extractors.

 

Seems to me that every day we loose another right to the "You'll do as we say because we have rights Taliban". Don't smokers have rights too, and Pub and resteraunt owners. Why carn't you have smoking pubs and none smoking pubs. People will choose which ones they want to go into.

 

Same as this Gay addoption laws. Gays have the right to be gay so we have no right to say I don't like gays. Fook sake the Church is saying Gayness is a fundimental no no of their religious beliefs. That the cornerstone of Christianity is that of the Farther Mother Married and blessed by god Family. That Jesus says Soddomy is a sin and against the fundimental laws of creation. Now i'm not a devil dogger, but that fits with me far more comfortably than a dick up my arse.

 

So if gays come to a Church addoption organisation and they say sorry Shit stabbing is offensive to us and against our religion. If you wish to addopt then these organisations can help you but not us. What is wrong with that and who rights have been infringed?

 

Apparently you can't believe being an uphill gardener is wrong, because gay rights organisation can prosecute you if you do. So the church that has stood for these beliefs for 2,000 years can no longer say that the teachings of Jesus Christ are believed to be true. This is the religion that the whole western civilisation is based on FFS. Can no longer say sorry but batty boys is not accepted here.

 

What happens to the Church's right to its faith.

Why can't we call a person from Pakisan a Paki, yet we can call a Welsh person a Taff, a Yorkshire person a Yorky, A Scotish person a Jock, a Japanese a Nip.

 

What ever happened to freedom of speach and does having a smoking room, or club, or even a Church Addoption Agency that people are not forced to go to really infringe on the liberty's, rights or fredoms of anyone.

 

Surely though Forcing these groups and individuals to comply to what others want has most definatley remove their rights, liberty's and fredom to conduct their life as they see fit.

 

If I don't like someone or their habbits I don't hang out with them. I don't try and force them to conform to what I want.

 

I'm sorry but it not the start of the slippery slope, because were already on it and it will just continue to pic up speed. It won't be long before the Gay rights lobby, supported by all the dicky back riding polititions passed a law that makes it an offence to deny OMO sexuals their legal right of charnal knowledge with you. not bothered if they ban it in public places as i dont drink anymore

BUT as the "owner" of kids old enough to drink im more concerned with the smelly disgusting drunks they or any of my family may come across!!

yet to see someone killed/stabbed in a fight over cigs, or need to piss in the street 'cos they have been smoking, killed after being mown down by a smoke driver, wandered onto a railway line after smoking, had your car jumped all over/damaged 'cos of smokers, ended up in jail on a murder charge after smoking, pensioners feel to frightened to go out at night because of the amount of smokers prowling their once safe streets, etc etc etc etc

 

yep it costs the health service a LOT of money for smoking related illness's

but study the FEW things above and decide which costs more and which you would rather put up with...............................................

I will be celebrating the ban by going to the British Pipesmoking Championship which is still going ahead, regardless, after the ban. And I'm going to smoke outside in public as much as possible. Big, stinky cigars probably.

Good job you're going to NZ (maybe) - there's going to be a lot less pubs to choose from 'cos they won't all be able to afford to stay open due to loss of revenue from drinkers who smoke. Look what happened in Ireland.

Doesn't seem to be a problem there. It dipped for a while....but no one's got anywhere else to go, so they get used to it and go back. Just like the non-smokers have done for years. Scotland are not having a problem, neither is the USA where it's banned in the majority of states.

 

Seems that a large proportion of it already agree looking at the poll.

 

Times move on, this is the modern age, smoking is back in the stone age.....along with drink driving...which used to be a popular past time 50 or so years ago.
