I would go with the X box myself coz the PS2 graphics give me a headache - I think the Xbox is sharper and as a sytem has a lot more graphical potential.

 

The down side is it doesn't have quiet as many Class A titles at the momment as PS2 - but it is a much more powerfull machine. Also you can't get Herdy on Xbox yet which im sure would be rite up your street bud

 

You can get it for £199 now and i would highly recommend :

 

HALO - Lots of killing

Wreckless - Driving + Killing

Dead or Alive 3 - Fisticuffs

and maybe Project Gotham if you are feeling Flush altho i was not a big fan of it i know some people that really like it

Its got to be the PS2 with GTA3 - a truly gruesome game of violence, stereotypes, pimping and driving!!

Peter is right. They are redesigning the PS2 (just as they did with the PS1) to make it smaller and cheaper to produce. This will mean the price will be dropping on PS2s at some time in the near(ish) future (but the current modchips probably wont work with it ).

 

As for shooting and fighting, GT3 and GTA3 is all a person needs to live a full and happy life

I'd say the PS2 has the edge. From what i've seen there is no difference in graphics and the PS2 broadband/modem and hard disk will be out very shortly to cover any advantage the X-Box may have at the moment. My PS2 has never crashed which I know can't be said for the XB. As for virus and security attacks... I'm just waiting for that one Microsoft.

PS2 will play all the PS1 games too giving you access to loads of cheapo classics.

How long will it be before a PC XB emulator arrives? That will piss the console owners off!

Had a go on GameCube Mario thingy the other day but wasn't impressed at all. I've always liked the Nintendo style games but this just didn't do anything that my PS2 couldn't do.

Good to see they've finally ditched cartridges though.

I've heard you can get a Gameboy Advance EEPROM gadget that lets you download games and write them to a cartridge... Anybody got one of these / or just the GB Advance? What do you think of it? Tooley is bound to have one!

 

ive been up all night on the cube on burnout and rogue squadron......absolute class but luigis mansion is pants...i gotta say just on the small size alone its a bonus as it'll easily go in the car and i can scrap my xbox idea as it was looking dodgy....out of all three i'd choose the xbox on graphic quality and innovative gaming. remember though the ps2 will have the level of support that the other two can only dream of.for the games you are after playing you've got choices on all 3 formats
