As above I need some advice from you guys

I am in the market for a set of alloys for my SWB TT Z. I finally decided on a set of 18"s. I asked for 8.5 width on the front and a 9.5 width on the back with corresponding tyres.

The shop has advised to stick with 8.5's all round and just put a larger tyre on the back...

Thoughts?

Nope, go 9.5's on the back to fill out the arches. Also, see if you can get a decent rim on the back, it suites the car. see my ride if want to see that set up. My rears have a 4 inch lip!!

I agree. Have a look at mine as well. They are 9.5 on the back.

Ignore the shop. Order stagered widths. Zs just don't look good with equal width wheels all round, especially dished / split rim types.

i had 10s on the rear and it looked great!

so insist on 9.5"

clearly a shop filled with muppets who know foo* all about wheels n tyres.

Best to find somewhere else to buy yer stuff from.

For every size rim available there is a correct tyre size. Putting a larger tyre on merely ups the profit to the seller. Nothing more.
