Can you guess why I've bought this for Eliza?

 

Obviously it's a single RCA to RCA lead, but what is the exact reason? ;)

 

I'm not going to confirm if anyone actually gets it right until the 'item' is installed..... should be about a week or so (hopefully)

There are enough clues on the site in the last week that could lead you in the direction, but I've not mentioned exactly that I'm getting this item :D

Well the item this is for has turned up (bloody quick paddling!!) This RCA lead hasn't yet though, both were orded at the same time!! :rolleyes: ain't it typical, you can get something all the way from Hong Kong, but something even smaller takes longer from your own country!

 

Anyway got to wait for the main thing that all this plugs into to arrive yet before I can start installing it all :D

well consideringing you have just sold your ICE, I would guess you will be replacing it with a decent system.

one rca lead? its either high-tech and you are using it to carry a video signal.....

 

or its rubbish and you only need one lead because it's mono. Maybe a 78" playing phonograph install in the boot?

well ive seen the thread looking for a second hand rear light cluster so its deffo for a reverse camera

Reverse camera would be handy.

I bought this on 19th (last Friday), he sent me an e-mail on Monday to say he'd posted it, it's now Wednesday and it's still not bloody here!! It's only coming from Nottingham, that's only 30 miles away, and even our own main post sub section (NG) :rolleyes:

But I bought something else (not even remotely connected ;) ) on Saturday night and it was on my door step on Monday morning!!

I put one in my rover 620, it replaced the boot lock and fitted perfectly, i think the z boot lock is too small to fit one there tho.

So did we find out what it was for?

with that length of wire im guessing its for something in the boot or at the back?

 

...or in another car. Is it a control wire so you can remotely drive another Z and start your own one man formation drift team?

i had a rear cam in my centre panel, still have it somewhere. i have the light up green 300zx one now. so if anyone does want one with the cam already in it!

Basically I've never posted anything more on this because, like so many other projects this year, I've just simply not got around to doing anymore to them! What with moving house earlier in the year (and now having nowhere really to do anything or store stuff) and with the weather always being crap whenever I do have any time :mad: it's been a bit of a poor show on the Eliza scene :(

 

 

But to answer the original question..... YES, it is for a reversing camera, which will link into my DVD head unit.

 

Some other projects that haven't got any further this year are.....

 

99 spec replica headlights.

LED 99 spec rear lamp units.

LED illumination for the auto-lever position.

Re-fitting the interior light delay........

 

But, hopefully, I'll get around to them one day :D
