does anyone know what torque the 6-speed's rated at and what kind of money they fetch?

£600-£800. Capablity to handle big power is a bit of an unknown at the moment but there are quite a few Turbocharged or Supercharged Z33's running around.

Did do some research last year about it, I know that a plate between the engine and box is required as the 350 starter and slave cylinder sits on the other side. Also the 6th gear doesnt really lower the engine revs much at all.

it wouldnt matter about the slave cylinder position, you just use a custom one off braided line direct from master-slave as you know :)

starter motor, a new hole cutout by an engineer to adapt the 300zx z32 starter motor

any transmission which comes from another car will need modding, so a special plate for the spacing of the bolts are required

also a custom propshaft

and finally gear lever would need to be re-designed

so how much are the mods and bits to the eng/box likely to cost while its still out of the car?

i dont think it would bother me anyway... just the difference between N/A and TT axle ratio will do me fine. lol

and i like the idea of 6 gears to play with even if it doesnt make the car better.

I'm sold, that's goin gon my list of things to do. I was having a manual convertion 2008 anyway and i was looking into whether the poopra one would fit but this would be ideal

i really dont know why people get excited about a 6 speed box?? yes its an extra gear but to install a 350z box is not gonna be cheap and ive heard of a few that have failed once they have gone past 450bhp with a supercharger so there as weak as a zed box or possible weaker!!

speand your money on a gear kit on the 300zx box rather than make another box fit ;)

also yes hks did a 6 speed box but its expensive and doesnt work very well, hollinger so a generic 6 speed seq box and you can buy it from tomie as part of a kit with the adaptor plate which fits upto an oem prop but your talking around £8k, an afternarket skyline box will bolt straight upto the zed engine but you will need a skyline transfer box which needs the front prop plating up and a custom prop but IMHO its the cheapest way to go if you want a 6 speed seq box but your still talking £5k for a rebuilt box etc
