so i dont hijack nitro's thread any further i've started my own. do any of you chaps have a good st or amiga emulator and the game elite for sale....before you techies bombard me with websites and stuff i need them on cd as ive tried many times to download them and failed

Yeah those were the days mister o'toole oh yes - I bought an A1000 in 1986 and loved it - do you remember a demo called 'Jesus on E's?? top stuff, was well into the demo/intro scene, some really talented folks worked with the Amiga, tell you what I have got tooley mate, the MAME collection - MAME and about 4000 odd roms, classics everyone of them (Space Harrier with a Microsoft force Sidewinder is AWESOME)

senna i remember that demo but do you remember the imperial walker demo that would only run on the a2000 i swear i was so sad that i got an a2000 on the strength of a demo....i'll tell ya wot else was cool the music that the diffrent hacker groups made for their rips those guys were wasting their talents on just cracking games....we all used to go to a pub in swinton called the beehive once a week it was packed with st/amiga guys all swapping demo copies etc and the one week i was ill and didnt go f.a.s.t busted the place and took over 150 amiga/st's

Yeah, Elite rocked.

 

There is a PC version of the original out. IIRC my favorite version was on the archimedes. But can't you remember how buggy the original was?

 

What you need to get is Jumpgate www.planetjumpgate.net, unless you are just after the nostaligia value of the original.

 

It's like an online version of Elite, it's probably the best online game ever created, IMHO. Some might say it's the best game.
