Hello Clarkey,

I've used Fulda Extremo tyres on the last 4 cars and I would never put anything else on my car. They are good on wear and no they don't slp out in the wet. A mate of mine has an NSX and since I told him to try them, he wouldn't use anything else either.

Vijay

I would agree.

I've got them on my Z now and just bought another set for my big new wheels.

They are hard wearing and I've had no problems with grip.

Very cheap and they don't look like a budget tyre at all.

How much are these things each corner???

But then having said allt hat, they are official tyres on Porshe, or one of the many.

Im a Bridgestone man.

Hi Clarkey

I have Fulda Extremo Tyres on my Zed and agree with Vijay. They are very good for the cost.

Paul, had a new one put on my Zed last week and it cost me £120.00 (inc vat and balancing). My wheels are 17' khans. I did not think the price was too bad. If you are trying to save the pennies a good buy.

From Micheldever ( www.micheldever.co.uk ) I have just got Fulda Extremos 235/40/18's for £95.00 and 285/35/18's for £116.00 inc VAT

Kwik-Fit quoted me £440 EACH for 285 Bridgestones!

did you get a price from Michledever on the bridgestones?

I have to say Bridgestones are an amazing tyre

Nice one chaps i'll have a look at those...

Just FYI i put a couple of FALKEN 225/45/17 on the front a couple of months ago at a small cost of £79 each inc VAT!!!

Falken are a bit of an unknown to most people but they make a brilliant tyre for all round use and particularly shine above the rest in the wet where they are f***in excellent!!!

Wear rate is pretty damned good too as the last set i had on the front lasted over 21,000 miles....of my driving!!!

Paul

yeah

Only side point are Falkens are half the price of Potenza's - when you have 18"s that counts for a lot !!!!

Warren,

Micheldever Prices:

Bridgestone S02's 235/40/18 = £164

Bridgestone S02's 285/35/18 = £220

They didn't have S03's in my sizes at the time but he said they were only a few squids more.

I think that price was +VAT but can't remember from the notes i made.

The prices for the Fuldas I gave are including fitting, valves, balance and VAT.

Fair point.

I've never really seen the point of buying bigger wheels for looks alone and then having to downgrade the tyres you use because they cost so much.

No offence intended to anyone who has done exactly that!

I'm spending £6.5K on my kit and wheels so have to cut costs somewhere and the tyres can be changed when they wear out.

After a few donuts and power slides they will be plastered all over the road smile.gif

Surely a cheap wide tyre will have more grip than an expensive narrow one anyway?

Not in the wet

On mine,

Falken - front

Potenza SO3 - rear.

18inch, lowered 35mm - on fucking rails mate smile.gif

Dylan, true not in the wet but I have traction control for just those moments.

Hi

I used to have Fulda Extremos on the front and Bridgestones on the rear. When the Fuldas were new the grip was fine, but once worn down a bit they tended to make the car understeer more than the excellent, previous Bridgestone SO2s.(A1 wet or dry)

If you are looking for stock sizes, then some of these so called budget tyres aren't really any cheaper than the Bridgesones. It may be different with the larger sizes though!

nah im on about buyign a set of UK wheels wit them fitted not buying new tyres. Im guessing the change from jap wheels with 215/55 super crap ADVAN tyres all round that are very very poor to UK's with 225/50 avon and 245/45 Fuldo's will be well worth it right?

Traction control is not going to help your cornering force, or help your braking distance (mine has improved greatly since fitting the S03s). The acceleration will also be limited by the tyres as the traction control will cut in much earlier

Get yourself S03s all round or if you're broke just on the rears.

And Clarkey - yeah, go for those wheels if they're cheap, always nice to have a spare set anyway, use them this summer, they'll be fine in the dry, and when winter starts put some S03s on the back.

Are the Avons ZZ-1's?
