Does anyone know of a product that removes adhesive left over from velcro etc on the dash without damaging the dash? I had this really sh***y velcro holding my head up display, and it melted in the summer sun and fell off! I now have some better stuff to try and want to clean all the old s**t off first, tried a few things without no success.

Cheers Martin

Cheers, I'll try that tomorrow!

Not sure what it is called but there is a really good adhesive remover spray which I got from B&Q (not a lot of help there).

It's a white tine with orange lid and if you spray it it stinks of really strong oranges.

Moved every type of adhesive I tried it on without any marks. Ran out and meant to get some more.

.?.Adhesive remover. Otherwise what he said

If you get an old sticky patch, that's dryed in the sunand is now imposible to remove, think again and try some Nail Polish Remover, it WORKS!! :D

I can't take the credit though, as it was my ex girlfriend that told me that one when I had a mark on the dash of my Escort! Afterwards you couldn't tell it was ever there!!

I think Danksy's willbe the one that smells the best!! ;) White spirit isnt too bad, but I'd hate to have the petrol smell inside the car :D

If it's like mine he will prob have the petrol smell anyway and won't know the difference

daves ideas the best. i used my birds nail varnish on my old car.it got off 14 year old adhesive that was on my paint work!

Nick

Nailvarniah remover, petrol will do the job , no worries, but they are very harsh solvents & can permantly mark the plastic,

imo white spirit will do the job without chance of perminant damage to dash

cheers martin

How about some good old aftershave?. Smells nice too :) (except if you wear brutt of course).

Sticky stuff remover...citrus smell... like oranges!

adhesive remover from 3m ( part number 08984) have used this to remove glue from body mouldings and van signs. try any good bodyshop supplier.

I can assure you that nail polish remover DOES NOT harm the dash in any way whats-so-ever! But then the citrus smelling ones will smell a damm sight better ;)

Be very carefull what you use any solvent based product on though, especially those of us with leather.
