Hope someone may have had experience with my little problem.

 

I noticed yesterday that there was an rattling noise coming from what seemed to be the engine! Popped the bonnet and all sounded sweet - revved whilst m8 listened and sounded sweet - no rattling heard from under under bonnet?

When inside the car the noise can be heard to be coming from under the dash area so to speak?

 

I have done nothing to the car appart from a new power steering pump belt last week? belt is ok and not overtight?

 

The ticking noise seems to come and go at differnt rpm's?

 

Please help.................................

maybe detonation (pinking) does it happen when car is on boost

that or the gearbox is fooked

that or the gearbox is fooked

 

I second that, from personal experience - startede pinking, then whiring and past away a few days later.
