Hello bud,

I would contact Bob (Safe and Sound all the way in Chester) or someone who know's the Z and how to install Cliffords. It seems to me one of those alarms that if not set up correctly will be one massive headache :(

I know this is really lazy but do you have any links for these or phone numbers please? :)

Many people slate Clifford alarms but it is all down to the fitting, GAP are probably the worst people to go to as well.

In my experience (fitting motorbike alarms) any alarm fitted badly will be a real nightmare.

But if Clifford have a bad rep it's worth avoiding them.

Its a good thing that i cant find them then ;)

Any recomendations of places?

As above, speak to Bob, probably worth taking a day to travel to him for fitting as he has done more Zed alarms than anyone, if you dont fancy the drive he may be able to recommend someone closer to you.

Any info for him? Phone or email?

Do you know if he sells the alarms aswell or fits them only as all the places ive seen selling them wont sell them supplied, they have to be fitted.

Suffolk ZX said Clifford aren't good.

My thoughts are that anay alarm's only as good as whoever fits it.

Cheers Vijay :) Ill give him a call tomorow but he doesnt seem to do the 950 or any clifford alarms on his stock list but worth asking him.

Did you get it today? The missis sent that first class so it should have been with you at the latest by today.

Clfford are utter crap!-period!

What has the same spec as the 950 with intellistart and is cat1 and recognised by insurance mate?

Hold on, I said they get slated because of poor fitting, I have had a Clifford G5 alarm fitted for 3 years, never had a false alarm but always goes off as it should when I test it, mine was fitted by a long standing professional that had fitted many to Zeds and an owner himself. I personally would recommend one and would have another without hesitating. :p

What did that cost you mate if you dont mind me asking?

Where did you get it fitted as id travel for the right place if it means its a mint job.

Not many,if any mate!-but the Clifford is far too fussy!

As has been said talk to the experts!

Mine was fitted at Ipswich Car Radio and cost about £600, I am pretty sure Bob has said before that he can supply and fit Clifford although he prefers Toad.

When I got my car three years ago I went for a simple Meta alarm. It's Cat 1. It doesn't have any fancy features but it's given three years with no problems at all (touch wood).

I'd go for it again rather than one that closes windows, starts the engine etc.

Oops, sorry!

Cheers for the help lads allthough to be fair im none the wiser ;)

Ill try bob tomorow and see what he says, HH300ZX has alos given me some details of a company that does them just down the road from me

ive got a clifford and im not that keen tbh. its supposed to be good when the targas are off coz of the proximity alarm but always goes off. even with the targas on it goes off. but when i put the targa blinds on its ok. and it is a bit to technical to. ive a toad proximity on the missus convertible and that is superb.i have a meta proximity on my bikes and that is superb to. hope that helps bud.

Stay away from Clifford and stay away from GAP

Nuff said!!

If you want a good reliable alarm then go with Toad Ai606. I`ve been fitting Alarms for 13 years now and as there may well be other systems that are as good or as reliable i stick with Toad cos i never have a problem with them. At the moment we fit on average 30 a month and the return rate for last year was 2.

And thanks to everyone who passes my name on, it`s appreciated!!

Bob

I have seen many write ups recently on alarms (as I don't have one yet...oops) and Toad seem to be always recommended.

So BOB what kinda price range would that set me back with installation and VAT?
