There are two potential water bypasses that can be done. Firstly the heater matrix, should it be leaking and secondly the throttle bodies (purely to reduce complexity), generally when the plenum is off. The second does not affect the interior heating in any way. The first most certainly will.

not sure give him (chris) a call but if it has a matrix connected maybe you have a air lock in the matrix..this can happen when rad cap is on its way out.....try new cap first...but top up system while parked on steep incline engine running, heater on full blast to get air lock up to the rad neck end

Its easy to check if the heater is bypassed. There are two pipes that go through the firewall to the heater. They are at the back of the engine, behind the balance bar etc. They are a few cm down, under the wiring loom etc. These metal pipes should have rubber pipes connected to them that dissapear through the firewall. To bypass the heater you connect these two metal pipes together directly, bypassing the heater system loop. Should be easy to tell if its bypassed.

If you look down the back of the engine you will see 2 pipes about an inch thick that go from the engine into the bulkhead.

If they are instead just looped together then the heater matrix has been bypassed.

If he advertised it with a "water bypass" then I suspect it's just saying all the complex unnecessary plenum pipes that have been removed.

He wouldn't make a point of telling people the heater wasn't working...

Check the water level first.

Let it run with the rad cap off until it's been up to temp for a few mins. Give it a few revs to get all the air out and top up. You might need to do this a couple of times to get it filled properly.
