What do people use when putting the front two water pipes back on, the ones just below the pulley covers with the sensors in. Is there supposed to be a gasket behind these or do you use gasket sealant and if so which 1 ? I think mine have been leaking behind these although I am replacing the two rubber hoses there as a matter of caution.

I got some proper sealant that is coolant resistant from halfords.

 

I've used hylomar before and it leaked in a few weeks, (just what I had lying around at the time)

The silicon type gasket sealer works perfect :dance:

silicon based sealers are good.

Hylomar is only good for ''stagging'' gaskets!-crap on it's own! :wack:

Thanks guys, I think I used hylomar last time I put them on and it has sprung a leak. Will try some better stuff this time around !!!

I have used RTV sealant on all sorts of things, even guttering. Its good enough for Duetze engines and Cummins, but there is no excuse for not using a gasket, the rest is just a belt and braces.
