I prefer an unoaked new world chardonnay. Or anything with a Pinot grape.

 

Pinot grapes are so sensitive - thin skinned, you can't just grow them anywhere.

 

I can never drink spirits. As a youth I used to weep in off licences.

I did drink a shot of Absinthe once - one of only two shots I've ever drunk.

 

No hallucinations sadly. I think I neeed to drink more but that wasn't going to happen.

It's very difficult to aquire a bottle of good (ie with Wormwood et al) absinth. However, help is at hand. There's a little shop in Berlin that specialises: http://www.absinth-depot.de/

Yep proper absinthe (wormwood) is still illegal here AFAIK.

Our stuff is just strong flavoured alcohol I think.

Apparently, if you know where to look, Absinthe (made with wormwood) is still available in Spain and reportedly in Denmark, Andorra, and Portugal as well...anyone off on their hols and fancy chancing it with customs? :D

I have a bottle I bought in Barcelona. Supposedly genuine - but who knows!

 

Haven't touched it in 18 months!

I drink it regularly and it`s never done me any harm . It`s quite the thing these days . After all it IS the nineteenth century , what ? :p

old no 7......lovely stuff used to do a bottle neat on a friday night...its an aquired taste for sure...very sour....however i've grown up now...and got my liver back :)

Always have a few JD & Cokes every weekend followed by huge quantities of vodka redbulls to make you feel like you've been on drugs LOL

I prefer Jim Beam to JD though :)

Jim Beam is smoother and Wild Turkey is just heavan
