Just a thought have you cleaned your throtle bodies your symptom points to that you need some brake cleaner with the long nozzle & a tooth brush.I can do it for you if you like Jeff has showed me.

Nice to see your still alive (after Castle Coomb!!). I will come and see you again when it's not raining,sleeting, and warmer than 4 degrees!!!

 

I'll bring some Altrans to clean our wheels as well, and yes, we'll try and clean the throttle bodies to see if that fixes the idle prob!!

 

Can't make next Sunday as I'm riding my 'crosser, but weekend after maybe

whats the idling problem? Im thinking of cleaning the throttle bodies next week whats the procedure? The car stutters a bit during idle should it smooth that out?

Clarkeyson mate:

 

Take off the 2 hard pipes going onto the throttle intake (engine warm makes it easier or heat with hairdryer)

 

Jam open the throttle and spray lots of Carberettor cleaner into the two openings

 

Get a couple of cheap toothbrushes (cheaper ones are harder and tougher) and clean the insides like hell - keep scrubbing and applying more carb-cleaner and use lots of kitchen roll to clean up the black shite that oozes out..

 

Keep on spraying/cleaning until you are happy

 

Remove the battery terminals for a couple of hours to reset ECU.

 

Put it all back together and it may run a little uneven for a short time.

 

Job done

so just go hell for leather with the carb cleaner? Is it not bad if carb cleaner sprays back into the plenum?

It will burn off but smoke a bit for a while. Actually it's probably better if you don't leave gallons of carb cleaner in the plenum.
