changing the brakes today and it seems the brake lines I've been supplied are all wrong in some way or another.

Firsty am I right in saying that on the rear, you change the rubber hose (circled in yellow) only and still use the metal pipe that goes to the calliper?

 

And on the front, does it matter if I miss the locator circled, as the new line is not long enough to go through it. The original line went like the line in red.
