I think we have his address don't we?

I agree - people should report him to the police. Sounds like he's fiddled hundreds / thousands from different people in different clubs.

I know in my case it was only 35 bucks, but it was more the inconvenience it caused me. Would be a good idea to start a thread for those effected (only) to list the amount owed, that way theres a bigger picture to see the extent of all this.

Also does anyone know how to trace registration plates ? he was selling a personalised reg that i think never sold, assuming he still has it, then a trace would give his new address, possibly... :(

Finally, i would expect anyone leaving a house to have forward mail service set up for a while, MAC if you have his address could you PM those effected so they can maybe send something in the post to him ?

Mine was a bank transfer so i don't have these details.

cheers

Hi M8,

I think your bank might be able to help you there, I paid someone a lot of money for a machine (not off this forum) and it never turned up. Apparently the bank can check to recipients banks account if needed, for address etc. They may not help you but it might be worth a try.

Also looks like some one has set fire to the car so some of the interior parts are badly burnt.
Did anyone check to see if he was in it!? :x:

just great, looks like i've been done aswell then..

brought an afm off him around 17th december, been texting him and e-mailing him but getting no reply's,

as you can probably guess it hasn't arrive, only waited this long as a friend said he had delays of 3-4 weeks on one of his parcels,

last time i spoke to him he told phoned me for my adress and that he was posting it first classs as it was £30 odd pound to send it recorded, due to it being afm, and airbox and filters..

i have a mobile number for him, and also his bank details

Can we not gather a 'dossier' of evidence and give it to someone who might nail him (police, trading standards.... whoever).

Sounds like we have name, address, bank details etc...

oh and also his g/f details, mrs a inskipp, ended up having to pay into her account as there is not a northern rock bank near me

Perfectly correct mate, tbh the cops may not be interested in someone moaning about 30 odd quid, BUT if a list was gathered of names and amounts and them presented to the police station in his local town, then yes it would be taken seriously and dealt with rather swiftly i would expect.

cheers

I have just PM'd MAC1 with the number given to me by Ste Robbo.

Just to see if this is the same or a new number to contact him on.

I was the member that was up there at the weekend just gone Hes nowhere to be seen, his girlfriends in a mess as shes pregnant, hes been lying about this for quite a while now aparently, He lost his job well before xmas, but he told me (and I think another member) when I tried to contact that he couldnt answer coz he was at work. he seams to have used different accounts to clear money, And the police have already been round, I had quite a chat with his girlfriend (not the name mentioned in this thread) and she showed me a shed full of parts, a rear garden full of parts and the car on ramps. Anyone who wants any more info can pm me

Looks like our Mr Foley has just dissapeared, last activity on here was Christmas day 25th Dec. There 'may' well be a perfectly reasonable explanation for all this, baliffs may have taken all his stuff if he's lost his job etc. but having said that he was communicating with me via his sisters PC and he said his internet had been cut off but it's all looking a little doubtfull.

BTW, i was gonna buy the full leather interior off him, he sent me pics and everything, but a few days before I was gonna go and pick it all up he wouldn't answer phone, text or PM, did anyone else get them off him LOL

Thats a sad situation, however from experience I am a little sceptical, very similar scenario with a chick left in the house to take the rap, turns out this last guy was a professional con artist :(

On a couple small plus points, the parts are there, there is someone at the house, this person is bound to have future contact with him OR know eventually where he is and she owes him no favours!

So 1 way around this would be anyone who's willing to go round and collect the parts owed for those who can prove what they purchased and paid for, then of course we pay this person the postage costs for sending on to those still waiting, we all will end up paying a few quid more again, but least yer get your parts paid for.

Pete, would you mind PMing me his address as am over on the mainland end of the month, if his place is anywhere within a 100 miles, i'll call up meself and pick up what ever, just in case though is anyone who lives near him willing to go around and get all the gear ??

Oh and possibly we need to look at creating a central bank system through the club to prevent this happening again.

I bought and paid for the leather interior, but when I got there i I was told it had been in her kitchen for a few weeks and she had got sick of it so she put it out side and someone stole it

This sounds like a really good idea, not sure of the commities veiw on this, would it be like escrow?? buyer makes a payment the seller is informed of payment, seller sends out stuff the buy then tell's the club every's ok the money is then released to seller?.... really good in theroy, but remeber that the commity are volenteers and have full time jobs, this sounds like it could take up a lot of time???

Feel gutted for everyone who lost money, but the car is there with the parts, has any 2 ppl bought the same part??

Sounds like he's been planning this for a while, andgotas muchmoneyas poss and done one... i really hope this is not the case just for the sake of his pregnant G/F.

Neil

well i am owed £110 and at the moment, its looking slim on me getting it back, but if anyone is near and willing to fetch i will send postage and a few beer tokens..

providing that the afm is their obviously...

also i wanna know who this mrs a inskipp is, due to it being paid into her bank account it makes it even harder for me to get money back, but if i do have to go to the police i still have all text messages, sent and recieved on my phone all though it probably wont count for much...

This also gets my vote, or even the club taking part responsibility with fully paid-up members.

slighly different approch to this. I know other forums that use v bulliten and use a feedback system like av forums etc . Beside your avatar is a feedback rating if you have traded on the site and members have access to view previous transactions and appropiate feedback used . Why dont we employ this type of system as well?

Is there a way of having a rating system same as ebay and feedback this may help any future problems on the forsale section or is this not possible.

Maybe something like PayPal could be used and monitored by the club in the same way the membership funds are handled?

I've stopped buying stuff off here as I've been ripped off by 2 traders going out of business for substantial amounts...

i suggested the trader rating over on sxoc, and they said they had used it before but it didnt really work as until something like this happens nobody really wants to leave bad feedback due to upsetting someone on the board...

Well, I'm out 33 quid... :headvswal Is Graham's home still in South Shields? Thats a bit far for me to travel, if anyone makes it by there and finds a front fan assembly in the back garden it's mine! I would be happy to pay for postage or pick it up at the next meet.
