hi guyz ..im thinking of going for bigger turbo upgrade and i thing these are probably the best ones ...has any one got those on car any good experiences?? how quick they spool ?? thanks for any help

Featured Replies

I have them and they are perfect. Spooling is much faster and there is very minimul lag. Its awesome as you can feel the difference from the stock ones. You can really give them a good hammering and still stable. The whooshing noise is sounds sexier and the power increase is beyond me describing here. Over all 10 out of 10.

Go for it.

[ oh and dont forget a bigger pekkie pump!]I thought the standard fuel pump was good for 500 + bhp.

Yeh ive got them on mine but with too much boost they nearly blew the heads off.

Mines in for a full forged internal jobbie at the moment, but i will tall you later how it comes off.

Dont forget you will need new downpipes and acctuators to fitb them.

It is. 600bhp ish so new pump is one of the last mods you're ever likely to need on a Z.

Lots of other mods needed before you fit those turbos though...

you should speek to someone like Turbodynamics. They are the autherized UK distributor as I'm sure you'll find the standard actuators on the GT2871RS are little on the large side for sqeezing into the Z engine bay. I got my GT2837RS (I think its 37,could be 73. would have to look at the receipts) Turbos direct form Turbo dynamics and they came with the correct HKS acuators specified for the car. I know Steve bought his in the states and had to get the HKS acuators after.

Also the standard Fuel pump will handle the max flow off the Nismo 610 injectors so with 555's that isn't an issue.

I recently fitted a pair of GT2560R (aka GT28R)... & love them. The Zed is a lot different to drive now. Stock turbos are very small, and don't take long to boost at all. My GT2560R's starting making boost at approx 3,000rpm and hit full at around 4,000 (at 12psi). I do have other mods that help such as light weight UDP, custom dumps, ported exhaust manifolds.

The best thing about these as an upgrade is that not too much is required to bolt them on. Z1 kit comes with the right size actuators etc... I had to slightly modify the oil return lines, but apart from that, it was as close as a straight bolt-on upgrade you could get :)

I'm getting a dyno tune early Feb, I'll let you know the figures.

so how your dino tune progressed??

Hey mate,

I ended up making 256rwkw@14psi (with some issues). Very happy with that, once I upgrade the fuel system I'll be pushing for 300rwkw.

Vid from my dyno tune can be seen here:
