I think I might be a CHAV!! lowering spring dilema!

Help guys!!

SWB 's are definatey too high on the back end and I am goin to lower mine in the next few days. Currently on new Eibach with new standard shocks.

3 OPTIONS AS FOLLOWS.

1. Cut the foooking things and risk seating problems. Nice and cheap!

2. Clamp them down using cut down spring clamps. CHAVTASTIC innit!

3. Put on the set of ebay specials I have sitting here staring at me.

I have no more money left so can't go for an expensive set on adjustable coil overs.

The more I compare the ebay specials to the Ground control Eibach ones I can't see that they are going to be miles appart as all the good things that the Ground Control ones have are also on the copies!!(square threads, locing collars etc.)

Help me I am starting to thing that Burbery baseball caps would look good on me?!!

Ive cable tied cut springs in before they have seated ok .Im not saying its ok but they have allways gone through the mot this was on a 200sx not a 300zx.

Can have the springs cut by a 'proper' company and they form the ends to seat,Don't make 'em stiffer tho' so could bottom out!

Like already said, don't muck about and get a good set-up! (or smaller rear wheels! :D )

OOH! Sound interesting any names???

Might do the adjustables as once they are on, I can adjust them.

Can they really cock up a spring and an alluminium sleve??

Andy

man never mess with dodgy suspension always wait and get the proper thing buddy as its your life if things go wrong when a spring is cut they heat up and can go brittle and then odviously break and with ties well thats a bodge that is worthy of scrapheap challenge wait and get the proper thing matey honestly

The cable ties only stop them spining and dislocating when suspension travel rises .They work fine. I maybe a chav actualy i got some burberry after shave for christmas

LET'S OFF ROAD!!!!!

at least put the ebay ones on, cutting them is just plain dangerous, my mate cut he springs on one of his carsand it drove terrible (bounced all over) then the spring snapped a coil off and fired into his tyre (luckily he wasnt going fast)

£400 I haven't got at the minute Matey.

I think I may try the ebay ones with stock dampers as they are vertually brand new.

Andy

I'm seriously considering coilovers. They are almost the same price as replacing shocks AND springs if you're going for uprated items. I don't need expensive coilovers as mine is never going to be driven on the track or in that style. Just want something that I can get to the exact height I want. I too find that Eibachs just aren't quite low enough at the back.

now thats a good idea lol

Hey Stellaz I just realised your game you want me to be the Guinea Pig so you can get your car down!!

LET'S OFF ROAD!!!!

Andy

So what do think to the height on this, the wifes ex shorty sitting on Eibachs + 19's

MMMMMMM hard to say.

I never thought 19's suited an SWB but that spoke design looks better than a lot.

They look ok to me but Like any car with bigger wheels I think they will look more purposefull when lowered.

Ok matey, It seems we are of similar thought on this one. I will chuck the Ebay specilas on and see how they perform.

Watch this space.............

Andy
