very true just never delt with anything from overseas and just wondered if there is any sort of set figures wise cheers matey

Not really any set figurtes, cheapest to go for is classic insurance but you will need another car as a daily driver, UK cars are generally cheaper to insure, for me it was about 50 quid cheaper which didnt offset the fact that most UK cars have rust issues now, personally I would only get a UK car if it had a very pampered life and had been garaged all its life, not used on salty roads.

thats fine matey i have a daily driver anyways so thats not a problem and 6 years no claims so shouldnt be much either way but thanks for the tips on the uk models do jap models have a limiter on them and is there any other bits diferent between the 2?

Imports may still have a limiter but its easy to remove, there will be no rear fog light as standard, early ones had the seat belt on the doors, different badge on the front, will read in KPH but again an easy fix and various other minor difference but none are a major issue.

ok matey nice one buddy thanks for the info ;)

thats wicked i wasnt expecting that at all i got a full quote just as an idea with direct line with everything they offer and that came to 820 with my wife on but she hasnt been driving long

Was that for the Uk or Import mate?-Try Houghtons for the Classic Z policy

should be less than that! ;)

it was only a quick quote so it would probably be a uk model as it didnt ask but i was just checking make sure it wasnt a astronomical quote if you get me cheers matey i will do buddy ;)

you can usually get classic cover if you have a garage a driveway its your 2nd car and you do limited milage and are over 30 years old...:D

i cover all of the above lol so i should be ok lol i think cheers

Ive got a jap tt but couldnt get classic insurance as its an import .Ive gone with Sky insurance, Had the FTO insured with them and believe this or not the zed was 300quid cheaper to insure than the FTO and that was only a 2ltr N/A engine. The zeds as you know a 3 ltr TT. Only thing I can think of is that the FTO is a very grey import whereas the zed was available here for a long time. Cost me £436 fully comp but I am an older fart with full no claims. The insurance is a normal policy with a £400 quid excess (same excess as the laguna estate (dog carrier)my other car

try houghtons insurance bureau next time they will cover jap-spec zeds on classic policies
