After buying an RPS Clutch for my Z to replace the shot standard one, I have wimped

out of going for a straight through exhaust

and gone for a Mongoose cat back. Many thanks

to Johnny at Grasshopper for finding me one.

There appears to be no stock in the UK of

these exhausts at the moment!. After seeing it in the flesh it does seem very good quality considering it wasn't that expensive.

Hopefully it will all be finished for this

weekend, time to test the exhaust through some quiet villages early morning me thinks!!

It will be interesting to see if the mongoose

gives any power gains over the stock one I had. Having said that how long should I run in this new clutch for ? any advice guys ?

my centerforce clutch (which rules) said about 500 miles of stop start driving,

my exhaust super dragger (here we do again the best of the best) lol said a running in time of ..... oh hell just goe scare old ladys in small villiges

Simon,

The normal recommendation is 500 miles of casual use and definately no full throttle shifts or high rpm launches off the lights.

During this 500 miles, once the clutch is fully engaged, it should be fine to run full boost.

I can't recommend this to you but I done 100miles of normal driving and then went to Santa Pod to do some hard 1/4mile runs without any problem :-)

Is it likely that the clutch will become

lighter with some use?.

the clutch wont get lighter, but your leg will get stronger

so you might think it gets lighter... ;)

there are a lot of Mongoose'd Z's on here, and they give a good 'balanced and bigger than stock' look .... hahaha

mine gets louder after driving for an hour or so, it's normally quite quiet in the mornings

Is this the best way to see if an owner has

upgraded their Z? See if they have a rather

large left leg!!. Can anyone suggest how to

build up the right leg to compensate. Perhaps

I should look at buying a Left Hand drive Z

aswell and rotate driving them. Does anyone know a cheaper option? Or can give the name

of a firm who supplies odd sized trousers!

Get an auto! It's good for us over 30's with failing joints!!!!

You can smoke yer pipe, talk on the mobile, steer and change gear all at the same time!

Well you never know with this jap stuff!!

Looks like the odd sized trouser option may be the one to go for then.

On the subject of auto Z's, has the forum

ever taken some votes on which oweners think is better?

Manual or Auto?

Which Kicks More Ass?

I have to say a manual because I own one.

Feel free to shoot me down in flames

Auto Zeds!

Also if you have the jap import the mirrors pull in on electric motors so they come closer to you so you can bash the pipe on it to get the tobacco out!!! Ha Ha! At least that's what I think they're for. can't be another use can there?

Simon P.

They can be handy for seeing how much rubber

you have left on the road after giving the car some shit from the traffic lights. My driving instructor always insisted that they were for seeing traffic to the rear of the car, the lying git!

We all agreed ages ago that Auto's were easily the best. Especially black ones!

Simon

i have the auto which is good as you can doughnut to ure hearts content but if i could have found a manual import i would have got one of them

lets get this straight for once and for all

its got to be

red

manual

super dragger exhaust

enough said lol

You are all wrong.

Silver Auto with Jazmo pipes wins!

P.S The folding mirrors are for those overtaking close shaves when you need to make your Z narrower.
