Just had it flash at me, not bad me thinks but, it might screw up my plans for the rear lights.

So

Can you send one of the break light wires to another so you can use the other bulb for a fog light, will this make the warning lamp flash up all the time.

Cheers, Scrawni.

It's quite well-tuned for impedance- if you do that I reckon it'll come on when you brake with the fog light on.

You can wire an appriopriate resistor in place of that brake light and that should stop the light coming on.

I say "should"- that's what I've done with mine but it seems temperature dependent- in warm weather it's fine, but in cold whether the warning comes on!

I may have got my numbers wrong...

Hmm- i screwed up! I used a 10ohm resistor when I should have used 6.8ohm.

Thing is, it doesn't seem easy to get hold of them at the right rating- I can only find 100W which is a bit excessive. If you wire a 15W 10ohm in parallel with a 7W 22ohm then that should give you what you need...

just cut the single red/yellow wire coming from the brake light control box in the boot to stop the brake warning lamp working in the car

If you still want to keep the warning lamp functional (as it also works with the tail lamps) then follow the wiring diagram within the Fog Lamp FAQ (HERE!! )

The down side with this is that the warning lamp WILL show up when you press the brake pedal when you have the Fog Lamp on! But not for normal driving without it. This way all four brake lamps work under normal conditions.
