Bedridden....almost. First time I've ever had the flu....

....and feck me, it's horrific. LOL, at one point last night, I thought I was going to die...well, at least I think it's flu. Started off as a cold and last night developed into vomiting, aches/incapacity to move, severe hot/cold sweats.

Chucking up when you have a throat that's as raw as the surface of Venus is really quite painful, not to mention the migraine and the high pitched tinitus.

I'm up and about now, but my head still feels like it's going to explode.

Generally I've been really lucky with my health. Other than being blessed with mild asthama as a child, all I've ever had throughout my life are colds and the odd chest infection. I did have an ear infection when I lived down in Southampton and was bed-ridden for nearly a week. That was worse than what I have now actually as that was slap bang in the middle of a very warm summer. Ear infections mess up your balance, so every time I wanted to move, I'd throw up. I also lost the hearing in one ear and about 50% in the other. Was very scarey. Made a full recovery from that.

I've had PROPER flu once and i never want it again, i passed out in a uni lecture and fell down the stairs bruising myself a bit then lost a whole day comatose on the sofa at my parents.

Sounds more like food poisioning to me.

Had this myself a few years back, just as you describe here. Some tw@gave me a cup of coffee with off milk!! :headvswal Took me out for about a day and a half!

Hope your better soon bud ;)

awe, hope you get back on your toes soon!

It could be food poisening, i got it from a tesco meat sandwich i'd left on my work desk all day in the heat.

Luckily the house i was renting had a toilet with the bath right in front of it so i could shit myself and heave my guts up at the same time

could also be dehydration, i was like this a few months back, went to docs told me i was dehydrated (too much alchol), got some tablets aand some type of powder to put in my drinks and all was fine

You have "SANTA'S CURSE OF THEE UNBELEAVER"   Repent and post on here that you are truly sorry for not liking Christmas and the Bling Fairy will make you better.Failing that, suffer till Xmas 2007 when you will be again asked to repent .Pi$$ Be Upon You

Hope you're feeling better today mate, just take it easy, keep warm and drink plenty of fluids.

Feeling better, but not after going through a sinus infection AND a respiratory infection as well as the above. On some quite hard-core anti-biotics not which seem to be doing the trick. Quacks have signed me off until Monday. Hope I'm better by then.

Ah the old "do you shit, do you vomit" chestnut.

Glad you didn't have this choice to make, maybe we should start a poll to see wht everyone elses thoughts are on this.

Gett well Soon si, sounds like you're passed the worse of it.

Al

Had tonsilitus since boxing day.

Missed the new year festivities and everything.

Have been back to the docs today for more drugs.

Have also got conjunctavitus in one eye to make things even better.

At least I am not throwing up. I hate that.

Get well soon.

Darrell
