i was on the 'net today having a look for a sensible car (like an M5 or a lexus and NO, the Z's not going.) ready for when the new baby arrives. i've also been bidding on a range cooker for her in drawers as she wants to cook a mahoosive turkey this year. went onto ebay to see how it was doing and there was a nintendo Wii for sale on my account (i'd left it on in the background) that i have nothing to do with! refreshed it incase it was a mistake and it asked me to sign in then repeatedly told me my password was incorrect. sent ebay an email from their security centre and went to sign into messenger. that keeps saying wrong password too. :headvswal

 

now my comp's going slow, i have NO access to emails and i can only go on ebay as a guest.

 

what the hell can i do?

download s&d search and destroy (type it in google) for a start, that should locate any thing nasty, then download avg antivirus and make sure the comp is clean.

would also recommend windoiws defender.

 

the last 2 are anti spyware and will find any spyware stuff on your PC.

 

Can also recommend ccleaner. This cleans the hard drive of any cookies etc and also has an option to scan for any "issues".

 

Use this and then do a defrag. It should help your PC run a bit better.

 

The other thing is have you replied to any emails from ebay or msn?

 

This is how I became a cropper.

 

Emptied my bank account like that.

 

You should keep an eye on the account you use for your ebay stuff just in case.

 

We just have to be carefull these days.

Mine got done to by some chinese bloke, the leak is at ebays end not your machine.

 

They got into my ebay account but nothing else as the passwords are not the same. Dont use the same password for ebay and hotmail, also make sure your paypal password is different or they will have access to that as well!

 

They just list items they dont have, then change your paypal details to their account.

 

This boke made a new paypal account in my name but it was in china, i phoned paypal and they froze it.

you checked your paypal since? I hope you didn't use the same password for that.

update... IM BACK!!!! well im back on here anyway. looks like the pesky trickster did ok for himself as i have loads of emails in my inbox about "how do i do a bank transfer", etc. i bet the bloke made a killing. he listed 4 that i can see so far. the worst thing for me is that we were bidding on a cooker that the missis wanted to do christmas dinner on and i've now recieved a non paying bidder strike because of it. i've never had anything like that exept a single bad feedback when a guy tried to sell me a mini engine saying it was a cooper s block but it wasnt. (1 stud short).

trouble is that because i contacted ebay and locked my account down, i cant even contact the seller (i can see my account but i cant do anything with it yet) to see if they still have it.

the other big annoyance is that i had a corsa listed on there and when ebay got hijacked i just sold it off cheap. looking through the mails on there i had offers of what i wanted to get for it which were a fair bit more than i took for it in the end.

anyone want to buy a Z or 2 or fancy helping out with engine fitting as im flat broke now.

Yep AVG free is still available, I run it on all my machines and I am quite impressed by it. Go and download the latest version...........
