ask vinnyboy as he still or used to run one,as far as i know there great allrounders with plenty of bhp :)

I'd be interested in opinions as well- on the cards as my next motor too! :)

work mate got 1 had a race in the zed with him obviously not as quick as the zed but i was quite surprised in their performance, i find out a bit about them from him and let you know

I think MarkZX has one or had one and always has good things to say about them :)

i had one breifly (about 8 months). quite quick for a tank, totally indestructible body/chassis but i kept getting really annoying leccy probs. rev counter packed in (fixed with a new sender), A/C button would work when it wanted to (sometimes when i didnt press it), rear leccywindows seemed to have a mind of their own and the T/C was not off even when you switch it off (really annoying). auto 'box felt very woolley but worked ok. headgasket went but caught it before it did any real damage, rad sender packed in. sounds like a lot of probs but it already had 180,000 on it when i got it for £1200 and it was used to be a tool rather than a car. i used to lend it out for tip runs, holidays, etc when my mates didnt want to wreck their cars. sold it at 210,000 miles after abusing hell out of it and still got £1500.

si.

oh and it was the 850 T-5. dont know if thats the one you are looking at? i presume the leccy's will be better on newer cars and V70's, etc.

The vinster's was a beauty. A really nice purple colour... not that i'm biast :D

My parents have one for sale at the mo, current shape 2001 X V70 T5 Estate. It's only done around 2,000 miles (yes two thousand). Leather interior, auto box, champagne gold exterior paint.

The thing is fooking nuts, pulls like a train, brakes are superb and a gorgeous 5 cylinder soundtrack :D seems like it's built rock solid too.

I've had 3 Estates and 1 C70 which I've still got.

They are a big lardy bus if you just get the basic motor.

Are you thinking 850, V70 MK1, Mk2 or Mk 3

The 850 was a higher HP at 236 with the 850 R 250.

The R models are well sorted and handle superb, Lowered, bigger brakes, Struts bars and better induction all standard. The Rica ECU upgrade will knock your standard 850 or 850R to roughly 320 BHP but the torque curves are awesome and the Rica chipped T5 will nail a standard TT Z

V70 mk1 and 2 are 220 BHP standard and 240 for the R and the C70GT's

The C70GT and the R's have all sorted suspension, bug brakes etc and handle really well, Some are 4x4 drive though very rare. They have a different Turbo and When Rica chipped and will push 320 bhp with bags of Torque.

My standard C70 GT was a match for some Zeds on the Nurburge run.

The mk 3's are well sorted ,but big money and come as 250 bhp standard or 300 BHP for R type.
