import ;) go au naturel

i'll start the argument off:

imports are totally rust-free guaranteed (lol)

imports are 480bhp as standard (uk are only 180bhp)

folding mirrors (who wants touring suspension anyway)

nice classy Z badge and not Nissan hamburger

drug money in yen stuffed down back of seats

no silly headlight washers that spoil the smooth lines

who needs rear fog lights?

japanese writing inside and in the engine bay give it +50 bhp

imports are called Fairlady which actually makes it sound 'arder

come on then you UK fairies

Unless it had been fully restored or garaged all its life and never taken out in bad weather then Im sorry to say that I would'nt touch a UK 300zx.

Even those with no signs of Rust on the outer shell, as soon as you get them up on a Ramp you find most of the underside entirely covered in rust.......in comparison to the underside an Import which appears as if its only just driven out of the showroom.

...plus Folding mirrors are

What !!, no way! is this true.

Imports are the best (cos I got one) :)

yep, also the red swb version has +50bhp on this too...

stop winding him up,

i would go for an import not had any isues with mine a good underseal, polish and some glue to glue all the tacky vinyl back down that the japanese sun has brought up and bobs ya uncle.

and come on FAIRLADY sounds pimping to fook!!!

and you can wear the yens with a hole in as a necklace too

jap spec 280bhp uk spec 300bhp.and soon as you get a jap spec over into our climate they rot like fook....................................wait for it

Nope....... UK published by Nissan as 276 for Manual.....and 268 for the Auto.

and there we have it   conservative publications to keep EU happy

.......There are'nt actually that many UK zed owners left to argue there side

im 1, ive had 2 UK models and 1 jap no bloody difference in each really apart from both UK's where manuals and the jap Auto, i would be more concerened in the difference between Manual and Auto which isnt a patch on the Manual, folding mirrors just a gimmick imo dont make em go any faster or last longer

Yep exactly, there are no differences in BHP.....IMO for US/Euro/UK/Jap...wether they are really 300 or 280.

There are differences in Auto vs Manual performance.

UK has better Oil cooling for engine/Gearbox/Diff...and is a wise upgrade for Jspec owners.

agreed also with a UK car you can see how fast your actually going and no limiter ping ping

Heres my Arguement

In the uk these 300's were sold for about £35 to £40k, in the 1990's the only people buying them new would of been loaded company directors etc that will of thrashed the life out of them from cold, not left them running to cool down afterwards and wouldnt know what a turbo timer was if it bit their face off!! And although they probably had it serviced regularly it wouldnt of given the kind of TLC we all give our zeds now.

However in Japan they were a much more affordable car, making the people that bought them appreciate them a bit more, thus keeping them in a better condition than their UK equivilants.

Least thats my theory!!!

Japs... better spec.. more loved and taken care of better, no salt in japan they use volanic ash on the roads so no hidden rust, performance parts are cheaper so more ppl can afford to mod in japan, bing bing noise is easy to turn off, cut one green wire behind the clocks, only thing you ned really is a better oil cooler for the auto box..if you have one.

all IMO of course!

HTH

doubt that mate if i payed 30 odd k for a car in the early 90's i think i would look after it. If it was a cheap affordable car as you say in japan i dont think i would have so much respect for it as i could get another one. Plus a lot of the imports havnt come from japan, they been thrashed around places like singapore

Most 30k plus cars are company cars though, therefor its not your money its works.

Im still here!! UK all the way, import seats dont go back far enough for anyone over 5'3" !!!

Uk cars came with wider rear wheels too. Better suspension, 3 point rear belts, You can trace the car from new and the insurance is cheaper.
