:( To do the rear brake pipes you really have to drop the rear subframe enough to get access to the pipes, even then it's a bit of a fiddly job. Although not really difficult it takes quite a bit of time so I guess unless you do it yourself its gonna cost a packet, sorry for the bad news.

mabey some of the experts can prove me wrong and you get them done cheaply, but I did mine last year and couldnt really see any option but to drop the suspension.

ohh and do the lot of them, not just the four listed, saves having to strip it all back down next year

My pipes have some corrosion and according to Phil at C&S Wood - although its a fiddly job you dont have to drop the subframe to do them - He also mentioned having the bad sections cut out and new ones fitted with a special kit to flare the pipes.....Check around to see who can do this - you really want a Z specialist as they know how to do the work on these cars without it costing the earth...

I'd often wondered why people talk about replacing the copper pipes. Is there any reason why they shouldn't be replaced with a few metres of Aeroquip braided hosing ?

Would this still pass the Mot though Andy??? would be a lot easy to fit I would of thought??

where could a few metres of this be accquired??

how would the male/female ends be fixed to this???

cheers

Don't see why it wouldn't pass. I always made up my own brake pipes when building bikes, this stuff is good enough for aircraft ! I used to buy mine from Harris Performance but I reckon most people in the trade could get hold of it. Smithy probably. You can bet it's more expensive than standard copper tube though - especially the fittings ...

Arnt the standard pipes made of steel thats why they rust the copper replacement pipes should last the life of the car.Buy a reel of copper cunifer tubing and ends from any motor factor and have a go its not that hard. Buy a flareing tool from machine mart and youre away.
