Wheel Centre Caps

Everytime I have to remove my wheels, I have a major problem getting the centre caps off as they seam to have kinda sucked on. Thought about applying vaseline or some kind of silicone spray to stop them from sticking. Any ideas if this would work cos it would be a nightmare having to try and get them off if I had a puncture :(
