thats what everyone is telling me but i think i'm still having a hard time dealing with it the girlfriend said to get another zed and start again but i dont know.

With support like that from the missus, you can only look forward.

I bet it's really sinking in now. I know how you feel. I smashed up my last car in a bit of a bad way. Luckily it only tore up the side, so with lots of money, I rebuilt it. But I just felt utter crap for ages as it was sat on my driveway in a smashed up state for ages so every time I went outside to get into my £50 banger I bought, it reminded me.

As weird as it sounds, but I bet you're feeling really numb now.

Matey, you'll find you can start from a clean slate and do everything with the new one you could never do with the old one.

It'll take some time but you'll get there bud :)

Well at least you managed to get most of the bits off. Fingers crossed most of the engine survived. It looked a little bit damaged in the photos

Yeah, the engine and tranny are gonna be junk. They've taken the brunt of the hit. Did you damage that JCB as well? Wondering how the damage on the nearside happened.

The main thing is that your all ok m8! there will always be other Z's. You still have your full health to drive one! Life throws many obstacles and challenges at us and this is one of them! You'll be back in a Z soon m8!

the engine has damage to the heads the left both the cams have broken but everything else seems ok. i was thinking might be ok for a rebuild project with new heads plenum was fine to just broke the throttle bar. what do you think

It will be a good project alright! as long as the chassis is ok you should be able to sort the body work out! I would go through it with a fine tooth comb b4 making your decision m8! would be great to see it restored and back on the road dipone!

Judging by how far the engine's pushed back, I'd check the bottom end hasn't cracked. The prop shaft may have also been forced into the back of the gearbox.

Hope it's ok though.

Actually, it may not have been pushed back as far as it looks...there's a lot of 'airspace' at the front of the Z....?

Dude, the body's unfortunately scrap. He should be able to get another body though. Slick Pete was giving away a shell not so long ago.

just keep the zed for the summer mate, i would never had taken the zed out if had known there was ice any where it was warm and raining at my house when i set off i didnt even know i hit ice till i got out the car as there was no grit or anything down and it was black ice too. not a chance

Unlucky mate, let that be a lesson to all to take more care in bad conditions.

 So glad you and your family aren't hurt. Such a pity that lovely Zed is beat up like that.. I had a bit of a scare myself this weekend going to Mazda Rotory Club Christmas Dinner Couldn't see very well on the country roads and nearly lost it on a sharp dark bend I just couldn't see where the road was going. So I know what it must have felt like to suddenly realize the car was out of control.

Glad there were people to confirm your story as well mate. Just take care and as others have said hugs for yourself, girlfriend and little girlie.

You could get one that needs a bit doing to it. Take anything that's good from yours and use it...??? Might be worth getting something mega quick as you'll feel half way there and you can focus your thoughts on that rather than the wreckage?
