Hi.

My exhaust was leaking mainly from the decat pipes so I ordered some new ones from petrolheads. SWB 300 TT.

After taking the exhaust off the right side came off fine but the left side all the bolts snapped :xxx: . See pics

Drilled the bolts through so I can now get a nut and bolt on. Problem is these new decat pipes are longer than the ones that where on.

The old exhaust is a hks superdragger. These must be made differently to other exhausts because of the length of the different sections. So it looks like I am going to need a rear section. Also due to the fact it also has cracks and holes in it. (cant really tell by pics just thought id put pics up)

Would it be ok to take it to a place to get a rear section made up driving, with just the detcat pipes on? Apart from getting caught by police for a noisy exhaust, would it damage the engine/turbo’s?

Does anyone on here sell SWB exhausts?

it'll drive fine - won't even be as loud as you expect as the turbos take a lot of the noise out.

Oh, not sure about the different lengths though... my superdragger was the same length as standard... maybe it's because yours is SWB???

i wouldnt, you would draw so much unwanted attention to yourself with the noise, possible fine and possibly made to take your car to an mot station to get it re tested then show the police. Also as your de catting you also run the risk of the engine smoking if the turbo seals have gone, or could cause them to go if weak. Im sure there is a trader on here who can help you :)

It was already decatted so no issue there ;) If its booked in to the place and you do get stopped then at least you can explain your situation and have it verified by the garage... Why not take the old and new pipes and get the place to shorten the new ones to the same as the old? Then you can drive it back, worry free, to get the other problems sorted :)

you will definitley be fine - I've driven mine in the same state, and as long as you keep the revs down you'll not got pulled!

so it was my fault for not reading it properly :smash:
