Had my zed on the rolling road yesterday and she was 282.8 bhp at the engine and 301.7 lbf.ft of torque.I have a fmic,4 inch straight through exguast and induction kit, cooler sparkplugs.

ย

Still running standard boost and standard turbos but i thought the bhp should have been more am i wrong?

The car is running very rich and could have leaks could this be the problem?

Any ideas would be great

Cheers

i'd say those figures werent bad.

A fmic on stock boost wont really make any difference, the exhaust will give you a few bhp, but as these cars are 10 to 15 years old then you have to exepct that you woulnt be pushing out the factory 280 bhp, so knock a few off for age, add a few for the zorst and i guess youre about right.

However.. looking at your afr graph, it starts at 13 and the nappears to dip off down to around 10 which is very very rich. I'd say you hould be starting at aroung 15 to 16 off boost then see it drop sharply to around 13 as it comes on boost and stay at at around 13 right the way up the rec rance. Some like to see it go slightly richer as it goes up the range but each to their own, maybe to 12.5

Maybe you have a duff temperature sensore which is causing the over fuelling.

you have to remember that the oem 280 bhp is at the fly so about 230-240 at the wheels so for a 10 year old + car is not bad ;) plus going rich is safe but saps power so yes with a decent chip it would run and produce more power :)

Yeah the guy said the program only measured the afm to so much and mine was way over and couldnt read it,thats the next stage is going to chip it.

Cheers for the help guys

he said his figures we fly figures, not wheel

Yeah 282.8 at fly and246.1 at wheels

Figures sound typical for stock boost. Like scoops says, the fmic would'nt really have any benefit at stock boost, the exhaust and filter will help a little...and old age would of taken away a little.

ย

If it is however running rich, then there is certainly more power to be gained there with an improved AFR..then you can get the boost turned up.

Whats the best way to improve the AFR?

first of all get it checked over, o2 sensors, temp sensors, timing etc find someone with a conzult to have a look to see if any of these are adding to it running rich, turbo cars run rich anyway to build in some safety but it does sap the power ;)

Running rich is NOT good for an engine in the long term! Bore wash will cause excessive ring wear and also damaged piston bores!!!!
