How do I become a registered trader?

I am all for giving you guys a discount! A few of my customers have suggested advertising on here and I am all for it.

As a Nissan trained mechanic, I have fond memories of the 300ZX (Like the time another mechanic jacked up one side at the rear to listen for a wheel bearing noise, forgetting the car has an LSD. He started the car, engaged 2nd gear and revved it up. The LSD wound up, the 300ZX spun round hitting a K11 Micra through the wall into reception, much to the shock and amazement of the customers!)

Anyway, thats enough stories for now, I want answers!

How do I become a proper registered trader so I can entice you lot to look at my ebay stuff?

Am I allowed to mention the ebay user I.D. kerbsidemotors!? No? Sorry!

It's by invitation and there are a few criteria we consider. Reputation and competence are important, as is location. In other words if you're next door to another trader providing the same service, then unless they explicitly agree to the competition, then you are unlikely to be approved. So, .... what we would look for is some evidence that you have experience with the Z32 and a couple of people to back you up and provide recomendations. As for location, I think I'm right in saying that at this stage we don't have anyone providing servicing in your area.

I'm doooooomed! Ha ha!

Don't know of any 300zx or for that matter Nissan specialists where I am.

Have plenty experience of Z31 and Z32 models as I carried out my apprenticeship on them. I have written guides on how to read and clear Nissan fault codes here...

(I done one for pre1994 Nissans too, you can get to it by following the link on this one!)

As for personal recommendation, a few of my customers suggested I join this discussion board as I already give discounts to members of a 350Z forum. I couldn't tell you who they were though.

But I have appeared inadvetantly on the board before...

People here know me, I am not treading on anyones toes because I stay in a place devoid of any ZX specialists and I know my 300ZXs because inbetween beatings I learned my trade on them!

Now do I qualify? (Fingers crossed!)

Double  !!!

Just one qustion though, if a trader uses fleabay then isnt he in 'everyones' area?? s this guy has things to sell, does that mean, yes you can become a trader as long as you only stick to servicing cars oin your area but you cant flog things on ebay as one of the other traders might sell them.

Still dont agree with the policy of no competition, still what do i care, it not my club, i come on here for the laugh not the policy.

I agree folks! This appears to be a forum for people who like and drive 300ZX to have a chat and a laugh!

It isn't Belgium!

If I cannot be considered a registered trader because I sell on ebay so be it, can't deny I will be slightly miffed if that is the reason though! While I am very proud of the stuff I sell I am hardly Demon Tweeks!

I am afraid I have to wait until those that decide decide. I don't want to constantly PM people and become a pain in the wastegate.

Oh, and before I forget, if you stay in Glasgow and you need your 300ZX serviced you can do it your bloody self because it is raining horizontally and I have just made a nice cup of tea! While we are fully willing to fit anything we sell we are not a garage and do not advertise as such. There are too many 'Projects' in the kerbsidemotors garage without trying to jam some poor guys Zed in to change the plugs!

wana try pillow talk with me

lol

i cant see a problem personaly. then again as a trader I would see a problem with anyone who was competition. but its not like its major bucks to trade and from my perspective the more the merrier.

Ha ha! I don't mean to come across as a lazy git who doesn't care! All I wanted to point out was our way of thinking at Kerbside motors is to help our customers work on their cars themselves. That way, you know everything there is to know about what you have just fitted and you have the glow of accomplishment. By not having a fully functioning showroom, waiting area and big flash fitting bay we can pass the savings on to the customer.

It is not our policy to register as a trader to go head to head with anyone who may offer similar services or sell similar items. We want to contribute to a board where everyone has similar views on what a good car is and what it should be. Becoming a registered trader to us is purely incidental, it just means we can post our logo in our signature and perhaps bung a few customers cars pictures in.

Actually, my first post was based on the understanding that you wanted to provide mechanical servicing, not supply parts. We really need more reliable mechanics and I'm not aware of any in your area, hence my positive response. We also like traders who participate and contribute to the forum by sharing their knowledge. I suggest you talk with our Traders Liason Officer, MAC 1.

As you cant send PMs if you email me what you are wanting to do or sell I will get back to you ASAP

Hey Mac/Shunter! You have mail (to your Mac email address!)

AndyP. Hope I didn't come across as having a pop at you personally. You thought I was a full blown garage operation and I can see why you would have to consider existing traders before deciding.

Hey folks! So do I get to be a registered trader? Am I allowed to mention my stuff? Do I have to make a donation? Do I have to join?

Im sorry to say I dont think you have a hope. Existing traders are'nt even allowed to advertise products similar to what you sell as we have another trader who sells such parts..etc

Hey moderators! I'm still here! Can I join as a trader? Please get in touch! I wanna join in! (Tears in eyes, chin wobbling)

My posts are disappearing, theres a shock.

The longer you get kept waiting the more chance of a knockback, oh and dont expect a valid reason either.

So you a member on the site ?? Why no PM mate ??

Hey moderators! I'm still here! Can I join as a trader? Please get in touch! I wanna join in! (Tears in eyes, chin wobbling)

I am a registered user of the site. I have deliberatly not joined incase I amnot allowed to advertise. I respect there are many registered traders who have been traders longer than me, offer a larger stock list than me and probably more expertise than me but if they see me as a threat then so be it.

While I may not be as big or as experienced as some, I am keen to help out and willing to offer my expertise.

All I want is a yes or no from the moderators. I have offered to join as a full member, I have offered to pay to advertise and I have offered to give discounts to registered members. If that isn't enough to be considered a serious trade member I would be asking what lengths the existing traders had to go to! Ha ha!

As b19rks said, given the length of time I have waited it looks unlikely I will become a trader on here.

So before I go back to being some two-bit chancer from ebay I would like to thank everyone who have emailed their support thru' ebay(kerbsidemotors!), banzaiclub.com, 350Z-uk.com and this site.

P.s. Craig-S! I'm sure I saw your car just outside Dundee one night but you were away before I could chat to you about it!
