Is it possible to recover from this or - just buy a new one - duh!

 

I assume this has some effect on it's ability to do it's job :rolleyes:

probably best to upgrade if the funds allow, otherwise if ya have some sort of air gun, blow all the crap out

Used to blow them through with a hose pipe, but make sure the spray isnt too harsh.

 

Alway's a good tip to do it in the summer, especially if theres been a dry spell, as dust will restrict cooling ability.

Airline and/or jet wash I reckon.

We have to wash out the radiator cores on our gennys and aircon units approx every 5-6 weeks out here as they get clogged with dust very quickly. Its ok to use a jet wash as long as you dont get too close and you hit the fins straight on and not from an angle although that mostly just affects the aircon units.

Blow in the opposite direction to which the dirt entered i.e. inside the engine bay outwards

...thanks guys - a friend who races beemer's said he uses a household cleaner like Cillet BANG, or Mr Muscle to break down the oily gunk first - then a power washer (not set to high)! No really! :rolleyes:

Don't forget to squirt inside you're intercoolers too guys and gals.... They get clogged up too...
