...looking at my rad up close - the lower third (almost) is clogged with road dirt and other *rap!

 

Is it possible to recover from this or - just buy a new one - duh!

 

I assume this has some effect on it's ability to do it's job :rolleyes:

Used to blow them through with a hose pipe, but make sure the spray isnt too harsh.

 

Alway's a good tip to do it in the summer, especially if theres been a dry spell, as dust will restrict cooling ability.

We have to wash out the radiator cores on our gennys and aircon units approx every 5-6 weeks out here as they get clogged with dust very quickly. Its ok to use a jet wash as long as you dont get too close and you hit the fins straight on and not from an angle although that mostly just affects the aircon units.
