How can you have a large pint ? biggrin.gif

> off back to pedants corner .....

1) If you're in Brentford, you can have a pint of Large.

2) At the moment you can ask for a pint, not get it and this is perfectly legal. 8 out of 10 pints are less than a pint. The average pint is only 95% beer - which means on the average price of gassy yellow liquid, you are probably being ripped off 14p every time you order a pint.

3) So does this mean you can have a large pint - well if there are two pint glasses and one contains more beer than the other then you have a large pint and a small one

4) OTOH, a pint which is 100% liquid is only the right size so how can it be "large". Surely this just means that this is correct and all other pints are short measures or, as we marketing types say, a f***ing rip-off.

For my next dissertation, I will explore the multi-dimensional effects of dimples on jugs and whether over-size pint glasses - or "lined" - are the true route to large pints.
