Theres been a lot of talk about Nissan Dealers being naff and ripping people off. I reckon it may be useful to start a list of dealers people have been to and if they got value for money from them in terms of cost, service and if they got the job done right or gave helpful advice. Also, sources of aftermarket stuff that you would normally go to Nissan for first - not performance stuff - stuff like fuel filters, fuel pipes, light bulbs etc. Also (again) good sources for scrapped Z's ( we all need one at some time!) I got a door handle from one for £40 instead of £150 from Nissan. What do you guys think?

i recon we should have a seperate section for people gripes about any company that they have had bad experiences .... yes yes thats all im saying lol

well, hmmn.. let me see...

i could set up two extra forums, one for good experiences/dealers/garages/mechanics and one for the bad ones

but

there would have to be no cross posting, you use the right one

and

you would have to be careful about what you say, and be factual

i'm not sure who would be liable for slanderous comments etc, etc.

you might say them, but i'm the one keeping them in view

it would a whole lot easier if the people doing the work also read/posted on the forum, as then they would be able to put their side of the story across

it's only fair after all

let me give it some thought

Something tells me that the 'bad' would definitely out-weigh the 'good', not being pessimistic or anything. Problem is that as some people have said in the past, depending on what you've had done your experience of a Dealer maybe drastically different from somebody elses. For instance, if you've had a stage upgrade or a nice shiney big bore exhaust fitted you're going to say "they're great!!!". But if you've tried to have a fault rectified and they've ripped you off for hundreds of quid and not sorted it you're going to say "B*+*!S!!!" aren't you?

Bilky, and guys.

Wolverton Nissan in MK, thers an old mechanic called Derek, he's a 'Z' nut' always wanted one but wife wouldn't let him.

He gives me all sorts of useful advice & stuff, free!!! (still cant find where my loose pipe goes though!) but the garage look down on the car as a rule :-(

But i've found that smaller garages treat the car like liquid gold for even the smallest of work done, & much cheaper of course, does this follow suit with the rest of you!

jut put a little note nder the page saying we are not responsible for any slander on the forum, and then let everyone go mad!!

I've always wanted a wife, but my cars wouldn't let me!

Its Law suit time baby.

We did have a function to do this on the old site, but no one ever used it so it didn't make the transission. We now have a much bigger user base tho so bringing it back is a possibility

I think this is a good idea to a extent altho the trend leads towards bashing a small high profile minority.

Also a problem that tends to arrise is that a company can get behind on work or have trouble with supply, the customer will loose there rag and come on here and slag them off coz they are not happy that the company has not lived up to there expectation. Thos that read tt.net might have caught the Gyro / Dsp Vs Wolf thread a while back which got ugly.

A point of note is. If you are not happy with the work done on your car - take it up with the vendor first before trashing there name in public. If they act on your remarks wrongly then anything after that is fair play to an extent. They may be able to explain their actions to your satisfaction or rectify any problems you have had with them.

This system works only if people treat the Good Feedback with as much respect as the bad. I would tend to believe that would not be the case in this matter, we love our cars so much, i know i would think twice about taking mine to anywhere that has been responsible for blowing the shit out of a fellow memmbers Z. even if someone else has had many a good experience there.

If you guys wanna share something then go ahead and post it here. It wont be shot down or removed unless it turns into repeated personal attacks on specific individuals.

Hope that all kinda makes sence, Sharing experiences of garages was one of the purposes for setting up this site in the first place. Unforutnatly I have and im sure Craig has also been on the recieving end of some nasty blow back from some dealers that were not happy with the remarks and attitude of people on this forum, that said we never have and are not going to censor peoples views in anyway untill they become a danger to the existance of the site, even this we will endeavour to do with as much tact as possible.

In short: Post what you think - but keep it civil peeps.

Cheers

Z ya
