I seem to have a bad boost leak. I found a big one on the driver’s side intercooler which I have now replaced, but still only 4-5psi?? I have been round all the pipes in the engine bay but no joy.

Just to make sure I'm doing the right thing. The way I'm doing it is by putting a plate over the MAF with a tyre valve in it and using an electric car pump to pump up the system.

Any help would be much appreciated..

Cheers,

Bart

Some of those car pumps can't flow enough air to get the pressure up.

Have you tried it on the road since you found the first leak?

do an ECU check to see if your in code 34 det senser failure that will put you in safety boost and only give about 6-7psi of boost

I've got plenty of boost. Ive got a boost controller and its mesure about 14.5 psi. I noticed when I was costing and the revs we idling I was getting good negative pressure, but as the car slowed down to a stand still the negative pressure suddenly dropped from about -13psi to -7psi like a valve opened or something.

bump..

ok simple check, small pipe coming off the balance bar driver's side, only about 10cm long, sometimes this can pop off and cause similar symptoms. you'll probably have noticed this tho.
