Got the car back today but...

Right, finally got the zed back today but nothing is ever perfect in my little 300 world so I'm looking for some re-assurance here.

The car is significantly down on power and the exhaust note is different...hard to describe why but it is. The guy who has had the car for the filming and got the tubs sorted reckons that its just a misfire so we bought some spark plugs today and he'll fit them tomorrow which apparently will solve the problem.

Apparently all the coil packs were checked and the engine itself was running fine before the turbo change.

Can someone re-assure me that there is a good chance that this is the problem or do I need him to look deeper into it tomorrow.

If its a problem this simple then my car is finally in perfect order.

Many Thanks

Rob

If it is a misfire (ie its only running on less than 6 cylinders), which explains both the symptons you descibed, then its less likely to be the plugs and more than likely going to be down to fault with either the PTU, PTU Wiring, Coilpack Connectors, Coilpacks or Injector connectors).

Pull off each one of the coilpacks in turn, and you'll find the culprit cylinder when you engine tone/note does'nt change.

Thanks for the advice I'll tell the guy tomorrow to do this. Sorry to be a pain all the time but when it comes to engines I'm reaaly only just starting to learn!!!!

PS.If its the property market you need help on then I'm your man!!!

what are the tubs boosting too as well ( aftermarket boost gauge needed),if it is running on less than 6 cylinders it is very noticeable as a vibration and a sound, it is as though the silky smooth engine note has developed a chugg to it
