come on when you turn the screen demister on . its bloody annoying as it reduces power. when you switch it back onto normal heater the screen starts to mist up again.!!!

is there a way of stopping the demister from using the aircon pump (eg by pressing a curtain sequence of buttons ect on the pod) i know you can diagnose it from there i was wondering if you can alter settings too.

anybody else find this annoying and how did you solve it

removing the aircon is NOT an option i will consider.

thanks :)

How many times do you go racing (when you need all the power) with a misted up screen?

its not that. the z has crap headlights at the best of times. i go to work in the dark and come home in the dark at the moment. i keep it below 3k rpm till she is warm. even then i dont floor it everywhere. (too many points to do that now :wack: ) its noticable say when you pull out of a junction you know the power is down!

perhaps it could be a faulty ac pump i will get it checked out in the spring. no chance of finding the money for that now!

I don't think you have a faulty pod. Series I and II heater controls work differently. I think Joel has a Series II car. Mine doesn't go into ECON either.

Ivan

that eliminates that problem then thanks ivan

I dissconected the spade terminal to the aircon pump (its so noisy its embarrising!), its awquard to get to, but stops the pump turning and the heater still works ok. The only annoying thing now is that the revs increase when switched on to allow for the drag of the pump!

HTH Steve

Hellraiser, I have the exact same experience as you and coincidentally was so fed up tonight i thought i'd post up the query and you'd done it for me! I'm keeping my rev's below 3k always at the mo while running in my engine so is more effecting when pulling off at junctions!!

I think I'll be taking Stevies advice and disconnecting the air-con pump wiring till spring so i can de-mist without the aircon kicking in!
