HI! is the question truth??

American--->tb25

European--->tb22

By this change of power fron one and another one?

Featured Replies

Turbos are identical on all (except for Impellor size differences between Auto and Manual).

TB22, which is a bybrid of the T25 with a smaller impellor. (also 4 bolt instead of 5)

and because the american version 300hp and european 286??

if there is a difference in power (which many believe there is'nt!) then its not to do with the Turbos.

european were 300, japs were 280 down to a gentlemens agreement between manufacturers , this was achieved by fitting exhaust impedence to lower the output, easily removed.

Both UK/Euro and Jap are published as 280, and only the U.S is published as 300.

(The UK Auto is actually published by Nissan UK as having 263 bhp, compared to 280 for the Manual)

Wether there are actually differences between Euro/Jap/US is a whole other debate however.

Hi,

The US SAE figure should be higher as the figure is a bench figure without any ancillaries fitted.

I think you're thinking of the European PS measurement, which is usually a few hp less!

e.g. 280din=276ps

Cheerz,

Jez.

FFS does it matter.

Gona get you lot anoraks in a minute :)

Nope, SAE is measured with all accessories fitted ;) (the method you mentioned is pre 1972)
