I got BT broadband, just upgraded to the homehub, as advertised, cant fault it.

bt broadband is good till it goes wrong you end up phoning someone the other side of the world who hasnt got a clue and fobs you off i have had too main problems once i was off the net for 2weeks, the second took 6 weeks to sort. i wont go through the rest

i was gonna change from bt but they offered me a great deal to stay, i pay £38 a month for upto 8mb, phone line, home hub and hub phone with unlimited calls day and night so its bought my bills down from £70 a month to £38 :)

Im with BT and cant fault it either. I have had to phone up with a couple of queries and so far they have been great.

you dont need to change supplier, forget all this shit "wireless broad band for the price of regular broad band" it's just the router, just buy a wireless router and a wireless network card and job done.

as above^^^ but be prepared that if anything goes wrong they will blame your equipment as they did with mine and in at least 10 times my broadband has gone down in 18 months they have blamed my linksys router and not once was it

With NTL on their top package. My bro' does a lot of online gaming and downloading films/games. They guarantee at least 10mb all the time.

^^^ What he said....but since your with AOL I would reccomend changing your ISP anyway !

I am with plusnet, superb, £16 for upto 8mb unlimited and my own wireless router.

you are joking right? plusnet is just about the worst ISP ever to grace the earth. Just leaving them back at home because their new packet shaping setup means bit torrent simply doesn't work at all any more, and the throughput is under 1mb during the day, this is on a 7mb line! Appaling, really is.

AOL on the other hand are one of the best ISP's currently going, afaik the only one without packet shaping in any form. Just been bought out by carphone warehouse I do believe though, so things might start to slip.

Oh, and providing you can get cable and don't live in an area with lots of students, get it. NTL:telewest will soon be launching a 50mb service on trial, now that will be quick!

Failing that, go to http://www.samknows.com and check the availability checker. This will show what LLU services are available in your area. If you can get either be* unlimited or easynet then go for them. If you have sky TV and can get easynet, then go for sky broadband on the max package, ADSL2+ up to 16mb, this is a very good service. Failing that, easynet also provide UKonline, they are very good also.

If you can get be* and are not on sky then do that, upto 24mb with ADSL2+ again, top quality service.
