Since I'm slowly cleaning up, refitting and renewing all the bolts and trim around the front end, I thought I'd replace the miserable and truely pathetic 1983 Datsun Cherry 1.3 DX style dual tone horns....yes....with some inferior GM componentry!

Our local scrap yard guys are the most miserable chunts to grace the earth...more miserable than me...by quite a long shot.

Had a load of loom and the nice quality sounding dual tone Hella horns off the front of an Omega. Miserable chunt wants a fiver for them, I said 'cool, but only got plastic'. To which grumpy chunt replies "Oh fuckin' hav' 'em then, can't be bothered". To which I said "Oh gee, thanks mate". “Yeah whatever” was the response followed by a nasty smokers' phlegmy cough.

Anyway, now fitted...sounds good. Was quite happy to bin the horrid old green things that were fitted originally.

I was almost too embarrassed to use the old horn...now it will be 'GET THE FUCK OUTTA THE WAY'!

;)

I bought a set of twin air horns from Halfords for £15 and I can scare people at half a mile now

They're the 'Ring' ones aren't they? I nearly bought their dual tone horns. But no point when I can get them down the breakers yard for £0.00.

Yes they're stupidly loud LOL

I wasn't as tight as you and didn't want to get covered in oil ;)

In those filthy scrap yards

When I took my old horns off they were broken and full of mud, oil, leaves LOL

Really? Christ, when I took my front bumper off, it was pretty clean. Few leaves, but took out the fan, central spar and everything and cleaned it. No oil.

Our local scrappy is actually quite clean.

Besides, I'm spending so much money on various bits of trim etc, that I've gotta save some cash somewhere.

I found these little beauties nestling under the nosecone when i took it off, meaty sounding things they are too after reconnecting them up instead of the standard horns :D
