Don't want to spend more than 60 quid but the cheaper the better.

Ok I do want to buy these now but will they work with my headunit without an external amplifier?

 

Not really sure on the guidelines on this. I just imagined if the headunit was underpowered (mine is 4x45) the speakers wouldn't be made to go as loud as they could.

 

But I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that there's a lot more to it than that.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'd like to 'buy it now' asap.

Not in your price range but JL VR series component speakers are amazing.

 

Maybe you could find a cheap deal in the states?

 

Would be worth the extra cash I think.

too late now I already brought these ones. I'm only really after something better than what I got now though so they should be fine providing they work.

Any speaker will work without an external amp regardless of power (wattage) as long as the speaker you use is no lower than max output if the head unit
