I've seen a page where they have zed colour codes but I'm guessing this won't be much help in places like halfords.

So is there a modern 'named' (rather than coded) equivalent for the silver paint used on zeds for sale for other nissans?

I know I could get some colour matching done but I'm lazy and if possible I'd like to just go buy a can of whatever.

I got a 1991 j reg na jdm. However it's for my front bumper which seems to be slightly different to the car shells itself but any advice or useful info would still be helpful.

Cheers,

Al.

Halfords have a reference book to hand with the manufacturers paint code in it find that, then cross reference the manufacturers code with Halfords code

I think I looked in there before. Didn't see the zed though. I'll have another look tomorrow though cheers.

Halfords don't have a colour listed for the Z so I got a can made up using their colour matching charts.

It is actually a Nissan shade but it's not in their standard tins and I can't remember the colour number off the top of my head.

other option is to go to a paint seller, they will mix a can to your cars color ID plate, Bancrofts in Coventry offer this service as do Brake brothers (thats if you happen to be passing thru Cov!!)

I am having my wing sprayed in a week. When I went to the shop that is doing it so they could get the code they said they don't need to as they just got it off the computer.

There web site is

Send them an email. They may be able to help.

Aint cheap though.

If your car is colour code KL0 then halfords do it, its nissan starburst silver metallic.

I think certain Nissan silver paints don't need mixing. Straight met silver out of a can according to a specific paint code, you could get lucky.

lol I went and bought some of this today, KLO starburst silver from Halfords.

gonna test it out on my headlight panel when it arrives, then if its all good I may tackle a bumper. Wish the weather was better though.

Cheers again for the help.

673 is the Silver Paint code. (and 'G' is the interior trim code)

Give the code to any Paint supplier, including Halfords and they will be able to mix it using there computers (not off the shelf...go to the service desk)

Dont expect an exact match with 15 year old paint though...its just as easy to take in something like your Petrol filler cap and have it matched from there.

Hi,

As an update...

I went to Halfords yesterday and gave them the Nissan silver code 673.The assistant brought it up on the computer and it said that only one colour was required to be mixed!

Normally they have to mix silver with a small amount of black etc to get the right tone, but code 673 is just medium metallic silver from their stock!

Cheerz,

Jez.
