After serious answers please guys. I want something that is fast (not more than 8sec to 60) and that looks nice / is a bit rare. I knwo zeds are great and people will say skylines, and i might go that route. But i would also like suggestions for slightly newer cars.

As you know i was involved in an accident (not my fault) and the zed has been writen off, im after something that might survive an insurance claim if knocked (ie not 15 years old i guess...)

Guess my starter for 10;

Audi TT (i know hair dressers....)

Have to be The P5B Coupe, But I've done that before so I'd for a VX220 to be honest.

You can pick em up for that kind of money and the Turbo will chip to 300bhp with un rivaled handling and unde 4 second 0 to 60 and 150 top end. + light on fuel and unlike the Elise the ride of the VX220 is something you can live with on a day to day basis.

VX220Ts still go for £15k+ and it's a little more than a Chip to get it to 300bhp. Courtenay CS4 which takes it to just below 300bhp involves Software Upgrade, airbox modifications, full stainless steel Milltek exhaust system, bespoke Charge Cooler System, Hybrid Turbo charger with stronger cast manifold, uprated Actuator, Uprated Higher Flow Injectors, Rolling Road Tune, then you'll need a new clutch to take that extra power.

The 2.2 can be had for under £10k. Could always go with the TB route on that one. Jenvy/QED/SBD are developing stuff for this engine at the moment.

Infact one of my neighbours is doing some development work with QED as he's fitting a VX220 engine to is Lotus Europa.

With a bit of hunting you could pick up a Alfa GT for around 10k

Bit inferior though in the scheme of things. FWD AND Italian....also, it's got a real oddball appearance.

He said 0-60 in UNDER 8 seconds never mind 15..... ;)
Oi Cheeky!!! :p

Inferior to what? Boring mass produced cars?

Alfas are built with passion, style and grace. I would have an alfa over any Jap car or any German box.

It's still a far smaller and cheeper job that it is to get an extra 43% HP from a ZED.

I forgot

what about a TRD Celica Gen 7

220 or 230 BHP depending on Series, under 1000KG and handle fantastic.

Honda Integra Type-R DC5.

A very modern, well thought out car.

Fast, low maintenance, rare, pretty practical too. Yes it's FWD but it has a LSD and it'd probably beat anything mentioned above on a twisty road.

Very low deprecition too.

If I didn't love my Zed I'd get one.

if i could find one id get an NSX but i guess 10k wouldnt get me one i saw one at 15k on a J reg!!!! but i would have a good go finding one.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm NSX mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

No, being FWD is...

So why do you still have Z then? Go out and get yourself a lovely Fiat Panda.

I agree to a certain extent, although shame they weren't built with the same passion. Although newer ones are graced with good build quality.

It's just a 147 with a different body. Nothing particularly exciting. The 240bhp V6 is nice, but, it's FWD.

Deffinately! The planned replacement for the Z will be an NSX. :)

Could always share one. ;)

My mates got one he would sell for £25k ish

paddle gear change etc start saving you two.

No such thing as a cheap, good NSX.

You can get the autos for a bit less but they're still big money for old cars.

your joking right?

alfas have got to be the worst build quality iv seen! they rot like hell, and you only need to look on alfa forums to see how unreliable they are.

styling is ok, but the 156 looks frumpy, but i do like the interior's on them

I’ve always fancied a Honda NSX, although you’d be lucky to pick one up for under £20k.

I had a Boyfriend a few years back who, out of all the cars in the world, wanted to own a Delorean. Needless to say that relationship didn’t last very long :p
