I bought my car from a dealer who imports the cars from japan, he had two a red and a blue, i bought the blue but my log book says red, chasis no is correct, but colour is not. I sent a 3 page letter to dvla explaining what had happened and that as far as im aware the dealer has managed to get the blue one registered as red and vice versa. I told them that i wanted my log book to say blue but NOT to log it as a colour change (the simpler option) as i didnt want to fuck up my resale value. They have now written to me to tell me that all the paperwork appears to be in order and that i have to take my car to the registration office on thursday morning at 8.40am to be inspected. I've heard of people having their cars took off them when theyve been done when they buy a car, hope this doesnt happen to me or i'll have to walk 22 miles to work, and lose all the new found female attention my z has got me. Should i worry or am i being paranoid?

I wouldn't worry too much mate, simple mistake on the dealers part unless there is more to the story???

 

But no, DVLA, won't cain you for that I wouldn't have thought!

The colour code is next to the chassis number - for instance, mine is AJ4 G - or red.

Worried about nothing, bloody joke in fact, a WOMEN looked over my car asked me to show her where the chasis no was and the says to me "you can tell i dont know alot about cars" In the wrong job love? I think so. There is no wonder there is so many hooky motors on the road with people like that around.
