Can I just point something out here, loads of guys I've spoken to with Autos go on about how hot the transmission tunnel gets inside the car!
I noticed this when I first got the car, but I have to say I think this is a red herring. Since having the Autobox rebuilt I noticed that if the A/C is set to a low temp. the transmission tunnel stays frostey. But if you up the temp. up to nice and cosey the carpet round the tranny tunnel gets errrrrr, well rather warm to say the least!
I reckon it's a heating vent causing the warm up of the carpet and nowt to do with the Auto box at all! LOL
IMHO
