Ive Been Offered A Couple Of Bleed Valves That A Friend Bought For His Zx But Never Used

I Have Used These On Other Turbo Cars Before With Some Performance Gain Has Anyone Got Them Fitted To There Zx Out There?

Or Is It Just A Terrible Idea????

Featured Replies

It's a fine idea as long as they are appropriate size, say about 1.2mm. However, to be safe you should have the ECU chipped first.

they go into the rubber pipes that go to the turbo and give you more boost basically but i didnt want to blow the zed up as have only had the car for a month!!!!

A Bit Like Boost Jets I Think But I Have Never Used Them And I Thought To Use Boost Jets You Had To Have Your Zed Chipped Or Am I Wrong??????

iff you increase the boost you,ve got to increase the fuel (alterd fueling map) this is why another chip with slightly overfueling is preferd by me to make sure i dont go lean higher up the rpm scale and doing piston damage. ime running 16psi but feel safe on my fuel map allthough around town the same chip can get a bit sooty ;)

THANX FOR THE ADVICE MATE I THINK I WILL TRY A FILTER WITH CHIPAND BOOST JETS AND SEE WHAT SORT OF GAINS THAT GIVES ME CHEERS

LOL bleed valves and twin turbos don't belong in the same sentence ;) Unless you know EXACTLY what you are doing and how to balance them then don't bother fitting them! As already said don't go above 11psi with a stock chip. Overfuelling throughout the whole rev range is NOT a good thing!!! Borewash will occur and your rings will wear out. A decent chip should provide the same amount of fuel at cruise/low speed but EXPAND the maps further up the range so that it knows what its doing at higher boost/revs.... Just because its running rich and sooting up round town does NOT mean you're safe at higher boost ;)

Ok here's one for you all - who knew the VG30DETT has bleed jets as standard? ;)

bleed jet? is that bleed valve or boost jet?!

...sod it i'll leave the Blitz to do all the work :duffer:

my advice mate is dont bother, save your pennies and get a good EBC and chip (John Dixon ;) ) i ran bleed valves (balanced) on mine and the difference when i changed to a boost controller was massive.
