Diff Pinion Seal

Been on the phone this morning to SWZ as lastnight I looked under the car, and the diff was covered in oil. I have been advised that its the diff pinion seal causing the leak.

Now I am fairly hands on, but am debating if to drive 90 miles to SWZ and have it fixed there, or have a go at it myself.

I was wondering if its a difficult job to change the seal, and is there an online guide about how to do it.

Thanks

done mine about a year ago, quite an easy job if you are careful.

the main thing to remember is the diffs are pre-loaded to a set torque, overtigtening of the nut on the flange of the pinion will put the pre-load out & wreck your diff!

carefully mark the nut, flange & end of the pinion shaft to ensure everything goes back together the same as it came off, tightening the nut only to the marks so as not to over tighten!
